No need to put words into my mouth - I haven't accused FSG of anything. Perhaps I should have phrased it our people 'may well be' as horrible. Or they might not be.

In which case it's an utterly pointless thing to say.

The simple point is I do not agree on the basis DutchRed was attempting to criticise them. Man City can be admonished for many things football related (financial doping, tactical fouling, being plastic), but I'm not interested nor do I deem it relevant to discuss non-football related matters such as human rights abuse in their owner's native country before a football game.

That's absolutely fine. But saying that FSG are / might be "just as horrible" is a completely different point, and one based on fuck all.

I agree with your overall point of view, that this is a massive game and that City's ownership situation isn't particularly relevant to that, but your next leap equating the two owners to try to suggest some kind of equivalence isn't credible.

In any event, I suggest we leave it here. Far too much to focus on to dwell on this. If others want to continue to discuss Man City's owners, there's a thread in General Football/Sport.

Look, if the mancs are going to use the two remaining days before the game shitting themselves over their bus being smashed to pieces, that's on them. I would have thought by now their corrupt multi-billionaire owners would have shelled out for a decent bus that could take an egg, or plastic cup or two, without blowing up.

We're going to war on Sunday, anyone who can make it down to greet our bus should be there. Remind everyone why we're the best fans in the world.

Best way to welcome the Man City coach is to enact their own shitty homeground greeting atmosphere - someone with a loudspeaker announces each player while the crowd just stands around.

Means we owe them at least 6!

The unsafe to drive coach that drove away?
It was overblown by the media for sure, but let's hope nothing happens this time otherwise there'll be an absolute shitstorm of negative coverage that will overshadow any result and give the club a headache we don't need right now.

Let's just make a red storm of noise and colour for our bus, then completely ignore theirs. They don't deserve our attention, and we don't need them fired up for battle.

Even better, the crowd should all stand in unity with their backs turned to their bus, in complete silence, with arms linked, in total defiance and indifference towards them.

No Kompany or Laporte or Sane from last season, is huge for them.

Gaps in their defence so big, you could drive a bus through it.

High press, in their faces. Win the 50/50s for 90 minutes.

A 10 year old can create that and cause the headlines for people seeking a narrative. I guess thats the problem with the world we live in

That was the problem with the incident in 2017 as well. Some divvy made a twitter or FB post (not sure which) calling for a hostile greeting for the City coach (when the bus greetings have always been for our coach). The Manchester Evening News and the Echo took a hold of it and plastered it everywhere before the match. Thousands of people who would not have otherwise seen it (myself included) saw it, and some dick 'eds took it to heart and decided to throw some bottles.

If it wasn't for the media advertising twitter posts, there wouldn't be an issue and there either wouldn't be a bus greeting, or else it would go off peacefully like all of the other ones.

Personally this time I hope there is no one there for the City coach. Just load up on ale and get in the ground.

I had a similar experience for the Chelsea game. I was watching whilst walking through customs and the plane took after just after Kante had scored to make it 2-1. It was a massive relief when we landed and I saw the score.

I think the manc journos need to be called out on their bullshit. Trying to fan the flames with talk of potential bus attacks every fucking time we play them smacks of desperation. If their arses have gone and they don't want to play the game, fair enough, they can forfeit the game any time the want.

Strange how the same journos won't call out the players arriving on the man city bus. Sean Cox will be at the game on Sunday. Here's a great opportunity for the scumbags to apologise to him for their vile song when they get off their bus, if they get off their bus. We won't be holding our breath on that one.

There should be an edge to this game, both inside and outside the stadium, with a feeling that it could tip over the edge at any moment. But at the same time everyone knowing exactly where the line is and walking right up to it.

We know that far better teams than the one man city will be able to put out on Sunday have come to Anfield and been turned over. If everyone is up for it, players included, there will only be one outcome.

Senseless'
Liverpool v Man City (Sun, 16:30 GMT)

Liverpool
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp on the possiblitity of a repeat of missiles being thrown at the Manchester City bus in 2018: "I am a fan of fan power in the stadium, but that is senseless. If someone at Manchester City is concerned that is our fault and we all have to make sure that something like this never happens again.

"We have not had a situation like that again. I wish I could say it would never happen again, but we all have to try and make sure."

Let’s hope anyone thinking of doing anything stupid towards the city coach listens to Klopp and uses all their energy up inside the ground rather than playing into city & the press’s hands
