As is often the case the anticipation of the ticket announcement is as exciting as the match itself!

Does it beat the excitement of a single ticket popping up at random during the additional members sale?  ;D

It's ok saying chill, I need to know the date ASAP so I keep my work diary free. These things need planning when you have a job.

Like I said there's a meeting I'm in next Thursday that I can't get out of, I'm anxious the sale is going to be then.

if the sale is next Thursday and you cant get out of the meeting so be it.

think it'll get close to all members this sale.
Sir, the cash monies?

Hope so. I'm only on 6 league credits for last year and hoping I have a sniff at these.

I’m only on 8 but badly want to go to this. Don’t have the money to travel for the super cup but a national express or train from Liverpool to London is fine haha

Pointless echo article up speculating on tickets

Does that mean an announcement later perhaps and a quick edit of the article?!

Hope so as talks about cup tickets being used to sort wheat from the chaff!!

Just read that article. What would be the point of using wolves!  I have wolves but it makes no sense.! Surely it will be league matches.

That makes no sense. Why would cup matches be priority. I know it's all speculation but i really hope that those are not the criteria!

I have Chelsea, and WBA, Everton from 17-18. Would be content with this considering how many would be in front of me if they used league games.

Said members and STH with cup credits, so I assume home Cup ties would be used too.

Just want the club to confirm something now

You get the feeling they can’t decided themselves on the criteria!!!

I wouldn’t be surprised if they used the wolves game but we got to the charity shield on our league performance!???

It’d be laughable if they use the FA Cup history going back whilst they wouldn’t go further back for the European auto cup! Would also fuck me over cos we need 3 together and have all 19 homes, all 6 CL and the league cup from last season on all 3 cards but only have 2 with the FA Cup credits going back 2 years! 🙈

LFC dont usually mix criteria from competitions for credits, they usually use historical criteria from a loyalty point of view for competitions - YNWA !

As long as I know if I qualify for a ticket by the bulk sales I'll be happy as qualifying for the CS will have an impact on the number of games I can try and buy in the bulk sale

The last time I remember it being used was when they rolled out the Auto Cup scheme to members in 2012, we played Man City in the League Cup Semi Final which was our first home game in the competition.

The Charity Shield is the winners of the Premier League v Winners of FA Cup.
I guess that could make sense?

We qualified by finishing 2nd in the league. Nothing to do with our FA Cup campaign, we fell at the first hurdle.

It's surely only right, therefore, that it goes off league games, as that's  how we qualified for it.

Imagine we won the league and qualified that way. Would it be going off FA cup games then? Would make zero sense.

We qualified for this through our league campaign so I fully expect the criteria to be based on that although from past experience, when it comes to our ticket office, expect the unexpected!

Anyone reckon they might be a collect option for this?

It's looking like I'm away on holiday Saturday 27th July for a week and then hopefully try and get a flight into London on Saturday 3rd August and stay in a hotel for the night ready for the game, but bit concerned about when the tickets might be posted so collection might be a decent shout.

Have we ever done a collection for a Wembley game before?

I think Man City will announce details first, with the various layers they'll have to stagger their sales through:

Anyone taller than Paul Dickov
Anybody with more hair than Vincent Kompany
Those born before or after 2008

Not forgetting the priority 6 finger holders.

The match rules for last year's Manchester City v Chelsea game on the 5th of August were :

90 minutes
Penalty shoot-out (ABBA) if scores level
Seven named substitutes
Maximum of six substitutions

I assume it is the same this year.

whatever the criteria nobody can say there's a fair/unfair way, use cup loyalty,  or league loyalty, its a fairly unique game.  I should imagine the starting criteria be quite low whatever they use because they wont stagger the sales.  30k ish tickets, it'll start for those people who are guaranteed. however they decided it

Cup games would be bizaree considering how we qualified.

It would be an absolute nonsense considering there was only 1 FA Cup game in the season. And you cant start using FA Cup games from previous seasons.

If we qualified by winning the FA Cup then it’s a different story as there are at least 6 and a maximum of 8 games to go off.

They've done away with the ABBA penalty system and gone back to the original ABAB system.  Apart from that I expect it to be the same.
