The courts, the rich, the powerful or those in authority never lie. It has been dealt with 'by the courts' nothing to see here run along.

Anybody not on this needs to subscribe today. Awesome show.

Hmm. I listen to loads, me. One's I actually follow regularly:

Kermode & Mayo - Radio 5Live's film review show.
Frank Skinner - Comedy - All the talking bits from his Saturday morning Absolute Radio show. Regular line up is Frank, Emily Dean & Alun Cochrane.
Hamish & Andy - Comedy - Best bits of their radio show. They're Aussie, and do sketches and daft pranks.
Rhod Gilbert - Comedy - best bits of his saturday radio show on BBC Wales.
Football Weekly - Sport - Guardian football podcast with James Richardson.
Football Ramble - Sport - More footy
Infinite Monkey Cage - Science - Radio 4 science panel thing with Robin Ince and Prof. Brian Cox.
The Ashes / TMS - Sport - Crickets.
The Big Web Show - Tech - Hosted by Jeffrey Zeldman, mostly interviews with developers about themselves and their work. It's not as dull as it sounds but I guess you may have to know who they are/what their work is to appreciate it

Edited to add in some descriptiveness.

My podcast choices are very sport heavy.

As far as football's concerned, I've got Football Weekly (the Guardian), The Anfield Wrap and World Football (BBC). Then there's a raft of baseball-related shows, which will doubtless be of no interest to most of you, and Fighting Talk.

The only other one is the consistently excellent Kermode & Mayo's Film Reviews.

Honestly, if I had more time there are others I'd add to that list. Pretty much the only downside to living 20 minutes walk from the office is that I rarely get enough time to listen to a whole podcast on the commute to/from work any more.

I don't have time anymore to listen to them regularly, but when I did I listened to:

Red Bar Radio

Wreckless Media Radio

Dan Carlin's Hardcore History and Common Sense.

Security Now

Red Bar and Wreckless are comedy podcasts that are probably extremely offensive. History show is interesting and Common Sense is more political. Security Now is interesting sometimes but half the show is always him wanking off about his hard drive repair utility that hasn't been updated in 10 years.

Very recent, only about five episodes in, and it is more of a 'blotto biography'. Great listen though!

Do you know what'd be really helpful? If people listing these podcasts actually gave a short, even one sentence, summary of what they are about/what they're like/how often they're released/how long they last. Because otherwise it's just really words that mean very little.

or you could down load based on some ones recommendation and come to your own decision, n'est-ce pas

How can you know it's a recommendation, though, if you don't know what they're recommending? Even telling people whether they're music/film/comedy/science/news would be a start. A typical example:

Smodcast
Tell em SteveDave
Hollywood Babble On
Richard Herring LSTP
Whiskey Brothers
Doug Stanhope podcast
Answer Me This

Nothing in the above list identifies what any of them might be about, with the possible exception of Hollywood Babble On (could well be about films, but I suspect it isn't) and Whiskey Brothers (could well be about whiskey, but I suspect it isn't). I happen to listen to Answer Me This, but from its title you couldn't possibly tell if it was light-hearted or a serious Q&A style thing. If you don't know who Richard Herring or Doug Stanhope are then the fact they do a podcast is no real help to you. There's probably somewhere between 50 and 100 podcasts in this thread with bugger all information beyond their name. Might as well swerve it and just go straight into iTunes and search for yourself.

Ones I'm on at the moment:

Ricky Gervais XFM podcasts:
Basically Gervais, Steve Merchant and Karl rambling for an hour. It's the funniest thing I've come across, there's 4 seasons of radio and then Guardian podcasts, its absolutely fantastic.

The Anfield Wrap:
Everyone should know about this anyway, but good Liverpool chat.

Kermode and Mayo:
Film reviews every Friday, great interviews, great analysis from the good doctor. Check out Kermode's rants on YouTube too, he mullers some films to a pulp.

Stuff To Blow Your Mind:
How Stuff Works podcast, informative podcasts on all manner of topics from biology to mathematics to history.

Infinite Monkey Cage:
Brian Cox and Robin Ince, science based fun. They're a very good pairing with Brians knowledge and Robin's humour.

Occasionally download Daily Bacon, the radio 5 show by Richard Bacon, guests and chat about the weeks events. His science bit "Bacon's Theory" which I think is on a Monday is decent.

All of those are great, but the Ricky Gervais ones have taken over my entire listening schedule.

What Claire said. They were recorded around 2002 I think, so fairly old in terms of podcasts. But very much worth tracking down. You can get them all on most torrent sites.

Quite enjoying AstronomyCast at the minute, pretty informative and bar the odd moment of tedium it's kind of fresh, slowly working my way through the back catalogue.

Any recommendations for fitness ones?  Just downloaded the Couch to 5K NHS one which I'm going to give a go.
