Obviously Bayern are way better but Schalke are just trash.  Why did Wagner get to stay?  Just making a living off of being friends with Klopp at this point as he seemingly can't manage at this level.

Honestly? Don't think it's his fault. Schalke is just a shit show and their squad is bad. Bayern are definitely 3-0 better than them

Hat-trick for Gnabry. Admittedly, he's playing a team not worthy of being a professional outfit, but still a good way to start.

At what club has Wagner shown he can manage a team to be better than their parts?  Huddersfield were consistently terrible and seemingly fluked promotion the more you look at it.  Now at Schalke they quickly nose dived after a good start last year and have been in relegation form for a long time.

He took an average Championship side Huddersfield and won a promotion with them. Maybe he had luck, but it was a great achievement. In the PL he barely upgraded a team that was barely good enough for the Championship and he didn't even finished last.

I think he's alright, but never given tools to really show how good he could be.

8-0 is a bit much though ;D

Wagner is no good. The season he had to get Huddersfield promoted will never be repeated again. A negative goal difference and statistically one of the worst sides in the league. Fair play, fooled some people including Schalke into thinking he should be coaching at a good level. Shit on a stick wouldn't even come close to describing what he has his teams playing. No wins in 17 Bundesliga games now, over a full season they'd be on course for 12 points...

That Huddersfield team was 5th with a -2 goal differential.  They were then terrible in the PL.  I don't think any of it really reflects well especially now seeing how bad Schalke has become.

In fairness to him he did keep Huddersfield up first season ?

Obviously he doesn’t seem to be that good at Schalke and won’t see the season out perhaps belongs at the league below as a manager.

Dortmund not wasting any time with Jude Bellingham, straight into the starting 11.

And he has now assisted on Gio Reyna’s first Bundesliga goal too.

oh this game is getting a bit testy. Challenges flying in.

Meunier and Bellingham look settled already in this line-up.

Gladbach been playing pretty well, but yes, missing their main men up front.

Yep, amazing!

I’ve never seen him play before the other night, when I saw about half an hour of Dortmund’s 1st round cup game. And in that game, and today he definately didn’t look 17 out there. A composed performance, neat little assist for the first goal too.

yeah it was cool, same for most games I think, it’s up to each German state as to whether fans can attend, and it’s up to 20% capacity. But it all helps!

Just watched Dortmund vs. Gladbach from last night and I think Dortmund got an amazing side really. Sancho and Haaland, obviously, but I was really impressed by Bellingham and especially Reyna, I think both might be special. Add to a team of Reus, Hummels, Can, Burki, Guerreiro, Hazard, Brandt... definitely the best depth for a German side not named Bayern I can remember.

I think they have a chance this season.

Dortmund missed their chance to over-haul Bayern in recent seasons.  No one to blame but themselves either.  It wasn’t a case of Bayern being invinsible, it was a case of Dortmund failing to take advantage.

Now Bayern do look invinsible, with the best team they’ve had since their 2012-15 teams. I can’t see Dortmund getting anywhere near them.

Yes taking over Bayern is always mission impossible, they are a better side at the moment and will get better but the gap isn't that big between both squads. Dortmund has so much potential in them, if one of Bellingham or Reyna has the sort of season Sancho had back in 18/19 then they are probably equipped to give it a go.

I was watching the highlights and they said something crazy like their frontline had an average age of around 19-20 years? Crazy stuff.
Mark my words. Top 8 will be a massive struggle.
We won't make any big signings this season and we will go back to being a top4 club.

yes, he has been amazing for Trabzonspor and Norway. How he didn't even make the bench for Crystal Palace is mind boggling.
