Reviews have been pretty good from what I've seen, the first couple of episodes have been good, has a bit of a budget The Watchmen feel about it so far.

The Batman Ninja anime is available on the UK Netflix now (dunno if it's on the US version) and it's completely ridiculous but also kind of watchable. But mainly completely ridiculous.

WW84...this is speculation I read, but I'll spoiler it just in case.

It's been suggested that the move has been made to allow for major reshoots so that Flashpoint is now included. This comes off the back of the constantly delayed Flash movie no longer being called Flashpoint. It's a handy time to do it, as they can get rid of all the DCU stuff after that, so can ease out Cavill and Affleck, and whoever else they want to.

I don't know. Moving the date to a similar time as the first one makes sense. And if they are making changes, I assume they're good or Jenkins probably wouldn't have agreed. Then again it's DC, so I have no faith in them.

WB/DC could brush all the DCEU stuff they didn't want (Affleck/Cavill etc) and keep what they did want (Gadot/Miller and maybe Momoa), do a 'soft' reboot and conveniently tie it in with a plausible Flashpoint storyline

I’m guessing the comic actually came before Thor and that’s probably where a few of Thors ideas and themes came from but......that trailer just looks like Water Thor

The god of ~~thunder~~ water, ~~Thor~~ Aquaman, has a magic ~~hammer~~ trident but has to mature to save ~~Asgard~~ Atlantis and the earth from a larger threat. Is also muscly.

It's a fair bit more specific, although Aquaman isn't strictly a god, far as I know.

Well I'm not sure how you do an Aquaman movie without him being (the son of) a water God with a magic weapon who goes on the heroes journey. With muscles. Like where's the room to do anything different in there?

Yes, I think the similarity to Thor seems to come as much from the tone as all that, though. And making a slightly-jokey Aquaman movie makes more sense than doing it with Thor did, really. The original Thor is an ass-kicking Thunder God, where Aquaman has always been a slightly silly premise.

For me, it's going to be impossible to top the Brave and the Bold episode where he goes on a family vacation. That's the definitive Aquaman story in my mind now.

Thor 1 was that ass kicking Thor, Ragnarok was a completely different guy!

I just can't get over how inherently cheesy all these Aquapeople are. Like I fully expect to enjoy the movie and for it to be a bomb.
