parking in the city center
« on: September 24, 2015, 09:24:25 pm »
Hi Guys

i will be renting a car in london and driving it up to liverpool tomorrow. im going to stay in the city the whole weekend(fri-monday 1pm) and i was wondering where would be the best place for me to park it during my stay. i have found a garage in the center called Q-Park but it costs 45 pounds for the weekend.

i will be staying in a hotel in the center

could you guide me with some alternatives?

Has your hotel not got a car park? Seems odd.

If you're staying down there, 24 hour parking at the end of Park Lane, opposite L1, is 8 quid, if by chance you're staying at the Embassie, they have a permit for street parking.

I'm staying in Liverpool on Renshaw street the Monday Tuesday and Wednesday in between Xmas and new year and I'm looking to park my car some were near there for the 3 days and nights. Hotel parking is £12 a day which I think is a little expensive so I was just wondering if anyone knows any were nearby cheaper and secure.

Will you need to use the car during the time you're here? If not then personally I'd park it outside the city centre on a street for free, then get a bus/train/taxi in to Renshaw Street.

.....Hotel parking is £12 a day which I think is a little expensive .....

I notice that the car parks on Anfield Rd now charge £12 on match days.

The last time I looked it was £4.

It makes the going rate for Scallies to "mind your car Mister?" at £2 a pop seem like a bargain!

Staying in town central (L1) for a few night next week (midweek) and the hotel doesn't offer parking.

Is there anywhere reasonably close like say walking distance to park the car for a few hours during the day/evening and overnight that isn't exorbitant price wise?

I will be out and about during the day so won't need to be parked up all day like, probably like 5pm-10am sort of job but times will vary.

Cheers.  :wave

I've used the one in Queens Square overnight a couple of times. Think its Q. More reasonable than L1.
Never had any problems.

They are, but you’ll have to get up and move them by 8am - they are pretty hot on that too.

There's that little carpark in the Baltic triangle close to the estate, which is cheaper then most. 10 minute walk from L1.

You can pay on a mobile phone, and can do it in advance. The details are all listed on the machine. It's approx. £2 per hour, with a maximum stay of either 2 or 4 hours depending on where in the city centre you are.

Good morning,
Does anyone know the best place to park for Clayton square? I normally get the train in but rather not risk it at the moment.
Thanks

Price wise I use the Multi story accessed off renshaw street that is then exited on foot half way up bold street literally a walk down Bold street and Clayton square is there . Only a pound an hour for the first hour and two quid for two hours also lift access and about 15 floors though it can be a bit tight getting up and down it .

Is that still only open between 7am and 7pm? It used to be 24 hours but then Covid hit and NCP took over and it's not been back to normal since. It's partly why we moved out of town, we were paying £100 per month to park in there (old flat didn't have parking) and we couldn't use it half the time because my fella would finish work after it closed and he'd have to park on Wood Street instead. Expect they'll get more expensive now NCP have taken over too.

Thanks for the replies, I was going for a covid test at Boots but I've cancelled it now after the government introduced the travel restrictions for Tenerife. Booked it back in April and there was always a risk that the trip wouldn't happen. In a way I'm glad not to be going now given the increases in rates they have over there and many places are not opening up anyway as more restrictions have been introduced this week.

12 quid for 24 hours parking in the city centre is a great rate.

Used to be folk in the One Park West building that would rent out their parking spaces for less than the Q Park there, nut not sure where they advertise it now.

If you can get a spec the car park at the Albert Dock is not too expensive.

If you fancy a longer walk and coming from the North end then there is a multistorey by the Malmaison Hotel. Easier to get back onto the dock road etc from there.

But that depends which direction you are coming from

If whatever you're going to is at night, and it probably is at the Arena, then I'd just park for free on one of the little streets behind the Baltic Fleet pub and walk over. If you Google Tabley Street, Shaws Alley etc you will see where I mean. It's all resident permit holders but only until 6pm.
