As long as it's not a 4-4-2 I'm actually OK with that lineup.  Would much rather see Coates start over Carra, but obviously Kenny feels differently about that one as he has all season and he's sticking to his decision.

If it's a 4-4-2 with Shelvey or Henderson on the wing then I don't like it at all, but as a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 I think it's actually quite good.

But momentum is massive. Look at Chelsea - they unfortunately have momentum with them, even when not playing well. I though before last weekend we needed three wins to get that momentum before Wembley - well we lost, so now there's just two games, but we just have to win those two IMO
Momentum ( sporting momentum) means nothing in cup competitions. For years and years we have all seen teams do shite in the league and then look like world beaters in a cup competition.

Heck, we've done fuck all in the league for a good 4 months and have beaten teams in the cups that have been either better than us ( United, City, Chelsea ) or in better form than us ( Everton in the semi ).

Just hope that we dont get any injuries and it wont be too bad of a day.

I respect the hell out of Carra.  Just like I respect Sami Hyppia and any other player who has been brilliant in the red shirt.  I just don't think Carry has the legs to play CB any more.  He shouldn't be picked on sentiment.

Can you imagine the complaints if we played a full strength side v Norwich and Fulham and lost the final because our players were tired and Chelsea'd rested some of theirs?

Yes, if there is an injury then Carra will be on at Wembley not Coates.  Hence he gets a game to keep him sharp.  Coates will get his chance.

Very surprised that Carroll isn't in the squad hope he isn't injured, though we do have a game on Tuesday. Think Skrtel is being rested with that in mind. Hope Craig Douglas Bellamy can fire, he has not quite been at it for the last few weeks.

The truth is somewhere in the middle, hopefully.
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

That is exactly why Coates should be playing in a useless game. To see how he is an if a proper CB is needed in the summer.

You don't think they watch him in training and have a pretty good idea of that anyway.  Fucking hell it's like zombie dawn in here.

Not too displeased with that lineup.  People whinge about Carra, but it's a fixture that means little to the grand scheme of things.  Interested to see if it's a 4-4-2 lineup with Suarez and Bellamy up front of if it's more of a packed midfield.
I'd be amazed if it wasn't a 4-5-1 or 4-4-2.  Not sure why people think it'll be a 4-3-3 or w/e.  I think Suarez will be pretty isolated if we play a 4-5-1 (like we did against Manchester United at home), but it could work.

Just curious if others feel the same way as me is all.
If he dropped Skrtel to rest him, then fair enough.  If he dropped him because he got a small knock or something, fair enough.  If he dropped him just to play Carra (and get him to 700 games)... then no comment, because it's probably better that I keep my mouth closed. :-X

Skrtel's played all but one game in the league I think (suspension after Tottenham away) Fairly sure he;s being rested, as he's made a few mistakes in the last 6 weeks or so, and he'll probably be our most important player against Chelsea, as I very much doubt that we'll manage to prevent the ball from consistently reaching their strikers without Lucas in there.

That's not to say that I agree with it being Carragher in there instead of Skrtel though
