Not so much the people you've mentioned, but those who evolved out of it. I like a lot of the stuff on Raster Noton, for example.

Einaudi played Liverpool in February this year, and he's back next year to do a gig with the RLPO.

Michael Nyman's doing a live film score at the Phil in November.

Sigur Ros are in town in November too.

All good ambience ...

I went to Einuadi in the Phil in Feb this year and he's spot on even if i only have his greatest hits or something.

Glass has collaborated with Ravi Shankar and it's called Passage i think, have you heard of the Triloligy by Glass with Koyannasqswatsi and Powasqsqwatsi and some other sqwatsi?

The Late Junction on Radio 3 is worth a listen - Mon/Thurs 10(ish) til 12.00

Bob, did you see the Warp gig at the Phil last year with the London Whaterverietta? That was A1. Jamie Lidell was fantastic. Didn't think much of Squarepusher, though.

That Steve Reich - desert music sounds good, do you know what label it's on so i can check out the website?

If you like desert stuff then i'd recomend Mercan Dede (Turkish Sufi) which is like Nitin Sawnhey but well....Turkish Sufi Music.  Zakar Hussein has a few mellow Desert stuff to.

Check out The Late Junction !

We'll see. I'm gonna try to get Dimi Mint Abba (Mauretanian desert stuff) next year for the Arabic festival, but it's early days.

Heard Toumani Diabate's solo stuff? Pleasantly chilled.

I went to the Chris Clark one as well. Those Nesh parties were class. Did you get across to Manchester to see Autechre at the Zoo a couple of months back? The sound system there was something else. I had ear plugs in, and my ears were still ringing at the end of the evening.

In answer to your question, there are various festival dates etc throughout the summer. Check the Warp website.

Einaudi is class. Unfortunately for us, some prat insisted on attending although he coughed all the way through. Bloody selfish as Einaudi improvises around themes. He cut pieces short instead of building on baited pauses. He did play for all of his allotted time. Just didn't get to hear him really go off on one as we say in classical circles.

You can find the man here for those interested.

I'm pretty sure they played some of his stuff at this warp thing, had a orchestra and Squarepusher. Also, some random film like the ballet mechanique or something like that.

Anything by Boards of Canada is brilliant. Both albums are of highest quality.

Should've mentioned... there are other albums out there, but you will have to download them, as the vinyl or DAT releases are as rare as hens' teeth. A good place to start is Boc Maxima, some of whose tracks were reused in MHTRTC. Whatever you do, though, don't start playing them backwards. :wave

Thats what i was on about, but I saw it at Warwick Uni. Lidell was quality, liking his new album as well. Squarepusher only played one song, and the bastard pulled out of Reading last yr. I wasn't best pleased.

You mean they've done 2 for Warp/Skam? Boc Maxima was still released. And so was the 12 track version of Twoism.

My favourite ambient track is Magic Window by BoC, extremely ambient. Also, lots of strange rumours about the track.
