I'm not going as I missed out in the ballot so I can't go into the wondrous details that others could. But I did have an idea outside the box which was to go on holiday to Dubai for a few days (not too expensive from UK and great weather), then get scheduled, cheap, well-timed flights from there to Kiev for a 24-hour period. When I had a cursory look a week ago it looked OK; you'd basically get a free few days in Dubai, compared to the price of a day trip from UK. It's still a slightly mad route though because your flying about 8 hours each way just to Dubai, double the distance, and then coming back on yourself, and back out again. Only worth it if the idea of an unrelated holiday appeals to you. It appealed to me more than sitting on an Eastern European bus for 20 hours or whatever.

For anyone still trying to get home I have 2x krakow - liverpool flights to sell for the Monday evening , £180 for the pair (plus  name change fee which is £115pp) . Cheaper than face value for the flight now. Anyone interested let me know.

I would take £350 now, which is £100 cheaper than buying on Ryanair where the combined price is 450 (£225 pp)

Got this spare for the Monday 28th...

4 seats departing Kiev 12:05, arriving at Lublin 12:25, £60 each including name change (currently £184 face value now on Wizzair).

Can be a handy link if you're flying out of Warsaw, Krakow or Katowice Monday night. Warsaw is 2 1/2 hour drive (Or 3 hour train), Krakow 4 hour drive, Katowice 4 1/2 hour drive.

Also the 21:40 Warsaw to Stansted flight is £78 so thats a route back from Kiev for £138 for those still looking.

Sunday isn't really a problem finding accommodation, there are loads of reasonable options. Depending where you need to head off from. Ibis train station is £42 on their site, or there are cheaper independents on booking.com and hotels.com.

Have 1-2 spare beds in Kyev apartment near city centre. From 24-27 (nights 24-26). Already 3 people in there (including me). We all are friendly, I think...

We have, and are using them again for the first leg of the trip next week.

You can check in online up to 3 hours before your flight (should be a link in the email confirmation), and then either print off the boarding pass or download it onto your phone. And yeah, that's it. Nice and easy usually.

This what I received from Wizz Air about checking in online:

•   Online check-in is available from 30 days up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure time if you have made a booking before 15 August 2017 or purchased a seat during your booking on and after 15 August 2017. In case you have not purchased any seats with your booking made after 15 August 2017, check-in will become available only 48 hours before departure. For return flights with no seats purchased check-in for the return leg will open after the outbound check-in is open up to 15 days before flight departure.
•   Print your boarding card and present it at the boarding gate together with your travel documents no later than 30 minutes prior to the departure of your flight!
•   If you travel with checked-in hold baggage you must present yourself at the baggage drop desk no later than 40 minutes prior to the departure of your flight.

I'm doing Przemysl to Lviv on Friday afternoon. Train cost about £8 and all border crossing stuff is done during the journey. I did look at walking across the border but it didn't seem to be worth the hassle. The train carries on to Kyiv but i'm stopping the Friday in Lviv and early train to Kyiv on the 26th.
Anyone else in Lviv on the Friday night?
