Ouch

If he’s scratched his cornea or similar he’ll need rest and would be no chance of Tuesday I don’t think. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him out for a few weeks but hope I’m wrong

No experience in this area but just been reading up on similar injuries. Looking at that pic his finger is half in :o

And Spurs got a free kick.

Vertonghen not even yellow carded for poking another professional footballer in the eye deliberately. The c*nt.

Hope Bobby doesn't have any permanent damage.

I don't think it was deliberate, but they shouldn't have got a free kick either.

Worse case scenario, it’s a corneal abrasion. I’ve had that happen to me as well. Hurts like a mofo, luckily it heals in like 2 days with eye drops, he’ll be alright

You might reconsider when you see the picture of Vertongen's finger right inside his eye.

I've seen it, but it's not necessarily going to make his eye ball burst or anything like that.

Momo had a boot to the face with a big wound, I don't think it'll be anywhere near as bad as his injury was.

Blatant free kick to Spurs.

I watched 3 replays and none looked as bad as those pics so to try and make that out in real time was impossible for the ref.

Fortunately, eyes heal quickly. Hoping the damage is minor. I have no doubt it was painful because I've been there before.

I’ve had corneal abrasion before and it usually heals in a few days and if it’s that I doubt he’s playing on Tuesday. He should be okay for Saturday though.

I don’t know what the injury is though. Fingers crossed.

Vertonghen channeling his inner Mourinho there.

Hope Bobby's ok. Such an important player, and judging by the commentators, pundits, and general media this season he's no longer underrated and is getting the recognition he rightly deserves.

Even with one eye he'd walk into every PL team.
