Torres is like having Drogba and Michael Owen - when he was actually good - rolled into one.

Nando with another goal as expected, Gerrard showed up today and played well, Babel looking more and more dangerous, Skrtel-Hyypia+Carra at RB is so solid, Riise looking back to his old self with less ambitious shooting=

Huge game for us and them has given us quite a bit of breathing space, im surprised we won i was going for a 0-0 but shows we have improved as a team that we can go at teams from the start and score.

Should have berried them in the first half but we didnt but still showed great passion and a will to get the points.

Derbies are never preaty and their not meant to be

Decent performace, bit scrappy, would have liked more, but it's 3 points and a 5 point gap.

On a side note, getting a bit fed up with the influx of fucking idiots on these boards whinging constantly about anything and everything throughout the match. Wish you'd all just stay away if you can't focus on anything positive.

Skrtel looks to be a great buy thus far. Absolutely solid. So relieved our lack of finishing them off didn't come back to bite us.

Top draw first half, sloppy second but defended well and Reina only had 1 or 2 hairy moments to deal with. Don't think he even had a save to make apart from the first couple of minutes from Arteta?

Gerrard was my MOTM. Absolutely dominated midfield, wish he had performed half that against the scum.

Torres had good movement and nice passing and a great goal.

Babel i though had a good game. Next season when he has sussed out english football i think he will be just as important to us as torres. He has immense potential.

Lucas looked off the pace again in the second half, something needs to be done about that boys fitness. However at times he still showed flashes of brilliance. not ready yet though but next season he should be a first team regular.

Skrtel is just inspirational flying around the back and making the hard tackles.

Hyypia was immense in the air as ever, it was good to see.

Thought Kuyt had quite a good game. He passed well, defended well, got forward nicely. Nothing really to complain about.

Riise was quite good today. Pleased with his performance.

Alonso needed to increase the tempo, he was gettin caught in possession to much for my liking.
