Non-football events at Anfield
« on: June 23, 2021, 02:36:07 pm »
Not sure if there's already a topic for this, go ahead and move/delete if so

Elton John will play at Anfield on June 17 2022 as part of his farewell tour. Interesting to see if they have any others lined up as they plan on having a few concerts in the summer.

The only ones they have prices for is the hospitality packages. Lowest price starts at £200 per person

They were actually pretty bloody amazing.

It's just been announced Liverpool legends Echo & The Bunnymen are their support for the Anfield gig.

First time at Anfield last night to watch a concert and not football. Not a big Elton John fan but it was a great night. Really well organised by the club and taking a bottle of wine to my Kop seat was fun.

It'll be interesting to see what singers or bands are announced to play Anfield for next summer.

I'd love it to be Bruce Springsteen.

Can't wait to find out, great buzz in the area, no matter who is playing! I think LCC gave Liverpool permission to hold 6 Summer concerts, a compromise on the 10 the Club applied for.

Don't know how these things work, but Anfield has only hosted 3 concerts this Summer, which is a bit disappointing or maybe the Club are happy with that return?

Isn’t the roof coming off Anfield road end for the new one to go on and cranes on the pitch if I’ve read correctly somewhere to facilitate all that , lots of work going to be going on in the close season to get it ready .

New roof truss will be going on soon, then slowly new roof will be built around that. No need for cranes on pitch for that. Old roof will be dismantled either during the world cup or at end of the season, which will involve being on the pitch.

I've not been to any concerts at the ground, but surely there are a fleet of shuttle buses from town to the ground and back for such events?

I'm surprised by that. I assume most people who go to these shows come from all over the country. Thousands probably staying in the city centre or at least visiting it before heading to the ground for the show. I'd have thought shuttle buses would be a no-brainer given that the regular transport is so poor.

Pretty sure they run the same extra bus services they'd run on a match day.
Still can sometimes be easier and less hassle walking back into town though.

Wonder if it depends on what time the gig ends, is their a cut off time?  I think it was after the Stones gig, I saw a long long procession of fans walking into Town. After the Elton John show (which I think finished earlier) I hardly saw anyone on foot heading the same way.
