Peter Ndlovu.

The Andros Townsend of the 90's.

"Since its purchase by the sheikh of Abu Dhabi, Manchester City has managed to cheat its way into the top echelon of European football and create a global, immensely profitable football empire, ignoring rules along the way. The club's newfound glory is rooted in lies."

Ndlovu’s was at Anfield. Last man to score one there in the League until Arshavin and his gormless face rocked up I think.

Ysrael Zuńiga (ok more 2000s but still pretty obscure)

Also Coventry's team at the turn of the century was a proper mixed bag of players - look at the squad list for the 2000-01 season.

Remember them buying Robert Jarni and then immediately selling him to Madrid, not making an appearance.

Wondering whether this thread should have some sort of rule - a la RadMac's The Chain or the Music Association Thread...?
I think you should have a picture of them at least, some of the names don't ring familiar but then I recognise them thanks to my four-sticker-short Premier League 94 sticker book.

Wegerle was half decent wasn’t he. Got around a bit, played at Blackburn and Newcastle too, probably someone like Norwich or Southampton as well for the full mediocre house!

I remember QPR in early 90's battering United at OT 4-1 and i think he scored 2-3 in that game.

I must have been about 7-8 but i remember that game for some reason.

Easily done.

Wegerle was at QPR, that’s who I was thinking of. Might even have scored the day we won the League.

Reminds me of Vigo from Ghostbusters II. Or Janosz. One of the two anyway.

Which reminds me of...

;D

 - "I despise your politics & you give shit gifts," I once told Heseltine. "But by fuck, you have the rugged, golden mane of a mighty Chimera."

 - "Thanks," he replied, before drawing a picture of Thatcher's minge on a wall outside a pub, and screaming profanities at it. Intense man.

 - I remember walking home along the shore with Heseltine that night. He destroyed some fella with karate, just for having a Welsh accent.

 - I didn't understand it at the time. The motive. The anger. The sheer bloody violence of it all. I'm not sure I ever will, in all honesty.

 - It was one of the most extraordinary strolls of my entire life. I watched Heseltine hold the moon in his hands, and orchestrate the stars.

 - I then watched him finger a girl half his age on the beach. Kept eye-contact with me throughout the entire action. Astonishing confidence.

 - He then pushed the girl into the sand, put his hands on his hips, and roared: "Look at me, Big Sam; I'm that bad guy from 'Ghostbusters 2'.

 - Fuck me, he could make me laugh at times. Christ, I miss him. Is he dead? He's dead isn't he? Fuck me, what a waste. R.I.P Mickey H.

Didn’t him and Huckerby rip us to shreds in a FA Cup game at home too?

Think I went to that and I was so upset my dad bought me a load of PlayStation games.

Liverpool vs Coventry City in the FA Cup, 1998, was my first match - Jamie Redknapp gave us an early lead, but Darren Huckerby levelled it on half time.  Dion Dublin gave them the lead in the second half and Paul Telfer finished us off at the very end.  Grim.

Southampton lunatic and part time Freddie Mercury impersonator Francis Benali.

There's a wonderful clip somewhere on youtube of him getting sent off for booting John Fashanu into orbit.  Fashanu had to have a little lie down for a bit whilst Benali departed the scene, and all the other Wimbledon "hard men" suddenly found the floor or the sky very interesting.  Either they were a bit scared of Benali or they thought Fashanu was a dick and deserved it (probably a bit of both) because none of them went over to have a "word".
