Pretty much. Wasn't his best game against Scotland though, but over here in Holland we blame it on their coach. Holland U21's were back to back European champions and this current coach has failed to even qualify for a tournament so we all want someone else in.

he still looked a few yards ahead in his thought process to me though, even if he didnt dominate the game, definitely a potential top player

what he's qualities what type player he ?never seen him play?

Well Adam is Dutch obviously and plays for AZ Alkmaar and is only 18 years old but is a main starter for AZ. I don't know how to embed on here but if you just go to 101greatgoals.com or Youtube.

PSV and Ajax both have scored - 68 goals and Twente have scored 66 and that's the top 4 with AZ at the top with 53. Find that a bit weird.

I hope Dost is being looked at though by a few clubs (cough)

PSV sacked their manager today. Losing 6-2 at home to Twente was bad enough, 4-2 at Valencia wasn't great either and yesterday they screwed up big-time, losing 3-1 to lowly NAC Breda.

Feyenoord's title push looks like it's over after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Utrecht.

Twente with Steve McClaren weren't great either, losing 3-1 at NEC.

Heerenveen are still the surprise package, and they won 4-2 against Excelsior and profited from the rivals' dropped points.

Ajax looked down and out for the league, but they won five on the trot, the latest victory an easy 3-0 against RKC.

But AZ are the league leaders, winning 0-2 at De Graafschap after a struggle. Rasmus Elm, their star man scored directly from a corner kick for the second time this season.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXQ8HkAXDBE

The six title contendered are ranked as follows.

1. AZ 52
2. Ajax 49
3. Twente 48(with a game in hand)
4. PSV 48
5. Heerenveen 48
6. Feyenoord 45

Different week, different story. All of the top six were in action yesterday. It panned out surprisingly. Which is no longer a surprise.

AZ screwed up. Giant-killing NAC Breda were in town. Last week they were the last team to play PSV under Fred Rutten's reign, now they went to the league leaders and managed a creditable 0-0 draw which could have even been more.

Ajax were in action at ADO Den Haag, a Millwallesque team who despise Ajax to the bone. They looked in for a difficult game until ADO were reduced to ten for a horrible, sickening, bizarre tackle. Ajax got a straightforward 0-2 win in the second half and the ADO fans proved themselves as terrible people at the end. Ajax are within one point now.

PSV got their new manager, it's Philip Cocu placed in charge until the season's over and probably beyond that. First up were high-flying Heerenveen and the players looked liberated. Heerenveen weren't great and lost 5-1 with some lovely PSV goals.

Twente are fucking up at the moment. They were dumped out of Europe on Thursday and yesterday Feyenoord came to town. The Rotterdam side managed a comfortable 0-2 win there so it's consecutive losses for them.

Gets us this table. As close as it gets.

1. AZ 53
2. Ajax 52
3. PSV 51
4. Twente 48(with a game in hand)
5. Heerenveen 48
6. Feyenoord 48

Next week will be vital in the title race. Twente play twice, at De Graafschap and ADO. Heerenveen have lowly VVV at home, Feyenoord go to De Graafschap, AZ play RKC(with Nemeth, who got the winner for them Saturday) and it's Ajax - PSV.
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence.

Manchester United could win fifty titles, but they will always be the Rolling Stones of football. Good, just not quite that band from Liverpool.

I know that Luuk de Jong is supposed to be the next great striker coming from the Eredivisie, but I must admit that I have been really impressed from what I have seen of Bas Dost from Heerenveen. Admittedly, I haven't seen too much of him, so a further input on the player from our Dutch friends will be appreciated.

None. Both have been playing their games for the U21's, there's too much competition in midfield. Others like Theo Janssen and Demy de Zeeuw who were in the WC squad haven't been called up for a while for instance.

Dutch CM/DM's will probably be van Bommel, NDJ, Strootman and Schaars (often the best player at Sporting, like at home against City).. VDV and Sneijder will probably be the AM's.

Luuk is supposed to be more versatile, but I don't see much of a difference between the two other than that Dost is a tad more prolific.

It's got to be the most idiotic league. Again, anything is happening.

On Wednesday, Twente had to play their game in hand at De Graafschap. They won 1-0, but lost star striker Luuk de Jong with a bad looking injury. De Graafschap were down to 10 men, yet they had a bucketload of chances to get a point or more.

Then there was cup football in midweek tpo, the semifinals. PSV won a tough game at Heerenveen 3-1 but AZ, the league leaders, let themselves down badly, losing 2-4 against mid-table Heracles Almelo after injury time and now Heracles are in their first ever cup final.

Back to the league. Twente could have gone top of the league for the night yesterday, but struggled to draw 1-1 at ADO Den Haag, while Heerenveen won 3-1 against VVV.

At the moment AZ look knackered from their midweek effort, the game with RKC Waalwijk(who have Kriztian Nemeth up front) has just started.

Feyenoord have to win at De Graafschap, otherwise the title looks beyond them.

But the biggest game of the day is Ajax - PSV. The Amsterdam team are one point ahead of PSV and the two of them are hitting top form at the moment. Will be interesting. I'll be back!

The way he took his goal after messing up the first chance was sublime.

Is that 20 goals in 21 games this season ? And he's still a teenager.

PSV were horrible. Fucking terrible. At 0-0, they played like they were 1-0 up. At 1-0 down, they STILL played the same way and got beaten by 2. PSV and Twente the big losers this weekend.

1. AZ 56
2. Ajax 55
3. Twente 52
4. PSV 51
5. Feyenoord 51
6. Heerenveen 51

Next week Heerenveen go to Groningen, their local rivals. The other title contenders have it all relatively straightforward. PSV - VVV, Feyenoord - NAC, Twente - Roda JC and Ajax - Heracles. The only tough game is for leaders AZ, travelling to Vitesse who aren't easybeats on home soil.

Most fun league to watch in Europe the last few years, so many teams fighting for the championship until the last round every year. This year there's still 6 teams who are competing for first place with 7 games to go.

This picture captures the feeling of Eredivisie 2011/2012

One week you're the favorite to win the league, the next week you don't even think you'll end in the top-5, a week later you are the favorite again.

PSV, Feyenoord, Twente ánd Heerenveen won yesterday. This means AZ and/or Ajax will lose points today or a miracle has happened.

The Eredivisie has changed and given the rise of Vitesse, it will probably get even more fun next year.
