Is that the seriously ill wife or the daughter's slapper mate?

Does sharia law apply to sex between a human being and a gibbon? Probably not so that's why the Dubaianese religious police haven't carted him off to durance vile.

That is his daughter,I wanted to post that first so you would really be creeped out by these.

Quote
Newcastle United's accounts reveal spending at Sports Direct

Two lorry loads of oversized mugs? Four crates of tracksuit bottoms? Or an entire store?

A closer inspection of Newcastle United's 2016-17 financial accounts has revealed the club spent nearly £1.3m at sportswear and equipment store Sports Direct, and at owner Mike Ashley's other companies.

The retail store is already a heavy presence at St James' Park - the stadium is emblazoned with its name and was even rebranded, albeit for a brief period, the Sports Direct Arena.

So, perhaps it comes as no surprise that Ashley continues to strengthen the bond between his club and his retail empire.

But what could £1.3m buy you at Sports Direct?
◾1.3m branded giant mugs, or
◾372,492 Dunlop Union Jack umbrellas, or
◾520,000 Sports Direct plastic water bottles, or
◾866,666 Sports Direct bags for life

Ashley also kept it in the family when it came to matchday hospitality with £77,951 spent on his nearest and dearest. The latest figures also show that the club owner injected a further £15m into the club - which means he has now provided £144m in interest-free loans to the club.

Last week, Newcastle revealed they had taken a "financial gamble" in trying to return to the Premier League. The 2016-17 accounts - which covers the period the club were in the Championship - state they paid wages of £112.2m, almost double the Championship's other promoted clubs, Brighton and Huddersfield, combined.

The club made a £90.9m operating loss that year.

Almost forgot it was the "sportsdirectdotcom @ St James' Park Stadium" Stadium for a bit!

Thanks for posting that Balague interview.

Some nice moments there but when you get an hour with Benitez you really should be asking better questions. You could be asking in depth questions on his tactical evolution from the mid 2000s, the profile of players he looks for in central attack (to press) now that almost all teams try the deep build-up, the risk management he coaches into his keeper, defenders and deep midfielders when building-up short, what he learns and uses from Pep, Sarri, the mentality of the current generation of players and so on.

It feels almost disrespectful when these guys - Benitez, Klopp, Guardiola etc - put their life into football and you don't go in depth about their passion, their work. Yet ask human questions, family, fan support, blah. That gets old after the first 200 times.

The football work is an untapped sea, even the managers have commented how easy a ride they get in the english / england based press.

Apparently, Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign Martin Skrtel from Fenerbahce this summer.

https://www.fotomac.com.tr/fenerbahce/2018/05/27/skrtele-kulup-araniyor

I ran the words through Google Translate and it comes up as . . .

"Martin Skrtel is looking for a club that the Glasgow Rangers gave up for the cost. Fenerbahçe's next season contract will come through the 33-year-old stopkeeper managers have suggested to Newcastle United. It was learned that the yellow-blue people wanted to get rid of the high cost of the Slovak stopper, who earned 4 million euros annually with the bonuses. Skrtel, meanwhile, has been on the agenda of Newcastle, the pre-season Premier League squad".

Thoughts?

Under Rafa's set up I think he'll be ok. He is better when he's back to the wall defending, as opposed to how we played in the last several years.

Can be easily out-muscled on the ball at times. Brain farts and decisions at times, but for you, I think he'll be solid signing

Thoughts?

Potentially a decent back-up for a year or so, but at 33 i'd be wary.

Feels like lazy journalism the kind of which saw Alonso linked with us repeatedly, summer on summer. Skrtel leaving his current club + Once signed by Rafa = He's signing for Newcastle.

I don't think Martin would be better than what you already have, he's at the back end of his career so wouldn't offer any longevity....be smarter to just invest the cash in somebody who can potentially offer a decade.

Newcastle have completed the permanent signing of Slovakia international goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka.

He is our first signing of the summer on a contract to June 2022 after the club activated its option to sign him.

Dúbravka initially joined Newcastle on loan from Sparta Prague in January.

He kept a clean sheet on his debut with a pretty impressive performance in a 1-0 home win over Manchester United.    :P

That's a good first signing, and looks like Rafa is staying another season at least. Read something about a Kenedy deal as well, a year long loan would be good enough I think or a permanent move if they can afford it.

I agree but he'd divide the fans. To some he'd be the guy who won La Liga ahead of the rich clubs, won both European titles and got a championship-level squad to mid-table in the premier despite a parasitic arsehole of an owner. To others he'd be the guy who turned treble-winning Inter to shite, got sacked after getting Real disqualified from the Champions League and took Newcastle down.

I'd rather see Rafa and the Newcastle fans get a good owner at Newcastle than Levy and the Spurs fans get a good manager at Spurs. So please don't ever suggest that again  ;)

Don't know if he's been linked recently but they should be going for Origi imo. Fits Rafa's striker role very well. Regardless of whether they sign a 30 million pound 'top' striker, Origi for something like 4 - 6 million - last year of contract, poor loan spell, down the pecking order - will become their best and most suited striker instantly when the competition is Gayle, Mitro, Joselu etc.

Wonder if Mata is available on the cheap as well. Wasting away at Utd, in his last year of contract. Was Rafa's last great number 10. Interesting deals to be made imo, with the big clubs, especially Chelsea, having a lot of talent on the fringes. Imagine the Newcastle pecking order in terms of what Rafa actually wants is something like this now:

                                                           Dubravka / Darlow

             .... / Yedlin                Lascelles / ....                Lejeune / Clark          .... / Dummett

Shelvey / Hayden                             Diame / Merino

                     Ritchie / Atsu                   ....  / Perez                            .... / Murphy

                                           .... / ....

Imagine Kenedy at left wing, Mata at no10, Abraham and Origi challenging for striker and it's already a much better attack, all from realistic transfers / loans.
