I think the accident rate at that junction would go up.
I'm inclined to agree with you there Mr. Brown Stars. Would be fun though.  ;D

I think it's about time someone knocked on his door and told him he has his own thread on RAWK.

Then ask him if he does requests. ;D

Seriously though. I'd love to know his thinking. Why does he select any given flag on any given day?  It all just seems so random!

Be careful there VdM, seriously its fucking dangerous mate. Why people can't follow basic lights and give way principles is beyond me, but I can hear the crashes from my back garden.

Oh and best wishes to our flag man, he's an ill man.

Had a Spain flag up today.

My mate's bird works for Liverpool council, he said as we went past it today that according to her its a guest house for judges brought in from OOT, hence the security cameras.

Makes sense if true

This is a bungalow mate but probably still worth £400k minimum. Anything round there and in our road is going for £300k to £500k. Its fucking depressing.

I was talking to a cabbie last night about this house, he says its something to do with the fellas son. He is supposedly in the Navy and the flags are of the country where the son is in port/on the way to.

I dunno how often the flags are changed -in order to disprove this theory- but there you go.

In other news, there is a house on Southport Road in Bootle with a shrine to Laurel and Hardy in their front window, crackpots.

This used to be an american embassy house believe it or not,a couple live there now called owen no not him he used to play for altringham played against us in the early 80s in a f.a. cup game .

A scrap dealer from the south end bought the American Embassy, I believe he was a bit dodgy, hes still alive. I heard he was trying to buy it for ages, then one day let himself in and waited for the owners to arrive with a big bag of reddies, and some gentle persuasion. BM are the intials Ive heard.

I doubt a gangster would bother putting up those flags all the time.

Oh and just as an aside, countries only ever have Embassies in capitals, so it was never the US, or any other country's Embassy.  A Consulate perhaps but not an Embassy.

Are there any laws about raising other countries flags in the UK?
"I know Liverpool fans care more about their club's success than the national team." Rafael Benitez

"Still we've had the hard times too - one year we finished second." Bob Paisley

No. Nothing stoping you.(although you need permission from the local council)
My understanding of the law. is that you can put up national, state, or regional flags, or flags of authority, but nothing that would constitute advertising or anything offensive.

The advertising one is also why the council will make you remove something like a football flag etc if you put one up. Although the rules regarding flagpoles are different and specific, than say, putting a flag in your window etc. which comes under different legislation.

• Under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, flags come within    the definition of "advertisement". Their display is controlled by the    Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements)    Regulations 1992.
• However, under Schedule 2 of the Regulations, the national flag of    any country, and this includes the Union flag, is exempt from    advertisement control provided each flag is flown from a single    vertical flagpole and neither the flag nor the flagpole display any    advertisement additional to the design of the flag.

It is recommended that any proposal to erect a flagpole should be submitted to the Planning Department at the Local Authority to ascertain any local regulations.
