Hoping promotion and relegation are eventually a part of the American game. I'm not American but I've come to enjoy watching MLS over the past few years and have stuck up for it when people are quick to criticise it, even though I'm fully aware it's not the greatest league around. It is however a good league that is growing in actual quality in terms of players/stadiums etc.
The constant addition of franchises however is one thing I'm critical of myself though. I know it's an American sports thing in general but it's shite if you ask me. With the addition of another LA team, one conference is going to have 12 teams, the other 11. 23 teams, and I've read they're trying to hit 28, but I could see them wanting to go even further than that if the current system stays the same. Hopefully that gets changed.
On the topic of the new LA team, I've seen they've already got a fanbase and it confuses me a bit. With the Galaxy and Earthquakes, what about LAFC is so appealing to fans to follow them? I'm not going to throw about terms like plastic, but it does confuse me. Atlanta are similar as far as I'm aware, because I don't think they had a team playing in another division (maybe they did, but I remember for a fact that Minnesota did, so it's easy to see where their following comes from.)
