Probably give Lincoln a miss. Last time I was there I got bitten on the leg by a dog. When I said to the to the woman holding the lead  "Your dog's just bitten me" she just said "It's not my dog" and walked off. Charming.

Sorry to laugh mate, good job there are no fans allowed in the stadias  ;D

Always had a nice time in Lincoln (except for that occasion when a massive HGV almost crushed me in my Mini by rolling backwards down one of their steep hills) so pleased with that draw. Shame we can't go.

See theyve shrunk the Europa which is good and made this as the third comp

Winner of it qualifies for the Europa league

Oh wow I thought that Europa Conference League thing was a joke ;D

That’s surely the death knell in terms of top teams playing any sort of strong side in the League Cup

Doubt it’ll change much to be honest

Most of the time the winners will qualify for a higher competition anyway and the likes of out near neighbours for example would happily play in it

Is being Played on a Thursday alongside Europa anyway so not a huge change

Who gets the place if the League Cup winners have already qualified for Europe? The runners-up or I guess 7th in the League?

Think it's seventh place. Where will countries without an equivalent league cup get their places from? Or will they have no entries?

It’s literally for the shitter leagues so we only get one spot I think. And teams who lose in CL qualifying apparently.

I'd imagine Adrian, Williams, Matip, Koumetia, Tsimikas, Milner, Grujic, Jones, Brewster/Wilson Origi, Shaqiri would be the sort of team we'd put out, depending on the availability of those players, or any transfers lined up. Beyond that I think we'll be looking at more younger players rather than any the XI likely to play on Sunday.

Minamino instead of Grujic. Wouldn't surprise me if Keita plays as well, presuming we go with Fabinho-Henderson-Wijnaldum against Chelsea. Harvey Elliot maybe if Brewster is let go before then.

So a team could conceivably win this new Europa Conference, then the Europa League, and then find themselves in the CL without ever even getting a sniff at the top half of the Premier League, never mind top four.  ;D

Teams barely want to play in the Europa, never mind a competition below it. Would rather finish 8th and not bother with all the extra fixtures than 7th and have to play in it.

Being from Wales though I can see how it might benefit poorer leagues who never get through the qualifiers.
