absolute load of garbage, didnt hear one reference to either. We stood and clapped the alan ball announcement at the start for gods sake.

I didn't hear one alan ball/munich chant and our lot started clapping for Alan Ball BEFORE the rent boys from where I was sitting.

Munich ???

Alan Ball ???

All made up crap.

As for the troubles at the turnstiles, this seems to be happening at a lot of our European aways.  We really need to get on top of what's happening, no good just saying stewards/police blah blah

didn't get in the ground till at least 5mins after ko last night due to the congestion outside. admittedly should have maybe got there before half seven, but apparently it was the same a least half an hour before.

There was a few idiots about seemingly trying to get in without valid tickets, which i would imagine is the main cause of the problems occurred. The police were getting a lot of grief, but mainly because people didn't know what was going on.

Impatience then kicked in and there was a bit of a surge from behind. Don't really know what people are hoping to achieve by doing this. Does make you wonder whether its all worth it reading more and more of the away match reports recently.

Im on that video. In todays mirror it says 'THE ONLY BATTLE THE VISITORS WON WAS WHEN THERE FANS CELEBRATED THE LIFE OF ALAN BALL BY CLAPPING THROUGH THE MINUTES SILENCE FOR THE ENGLAND WORLD CUP WINNER BEFORE THE GAME. THE CHELSEA FANS RECOGNISED THE WORTH OF WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND JOINED IN.

The stewards were searchign bags outside and taking away all banners that might have hung down obstructing the lower tier view, for those who got there early.  They had to be taken away to some other place until after the game.  So there would have been more.  They gave up later on.
had to hand ours in ,was told they don't allow flags over a certain size, had a great row with one of the cockney stewards, its on youtube somewhere, had to collect it at the security office after the game!!!PATHETIC!!

Thought it was fucking class in there myself last night. Fucking should be as i can't talk today.

Always come away with that pride that they've got fuck all on us, i honestly couldn't give a shit if they won the league for the next 5 years cos they'd still be nowhere near what our fans give for these games.

litte things that make me laff, looking for a boozer around Kings cross , three of us and three other lads walking towards each other spontaneously breaking into Campioni.

Doesn't really matter.  It was about respect.

And Liverpool fans showed that spontaneously as soon as Ball's name was mentioned.

It got worse closer to kick off when the police arrived with the group they had been marching ( I guess) from wherever.

I was in this group, and it did get worse when they/we arrived. There were a lot of dickheads in that group, but also a lot of sound people, me and my mates included, whose only crime was to be in a pub and wearing a Liverpool shirt.

The police 'escort' was a joke. The group was rounded up, seemingly for no reason, at 7pm when we were leaving the pub in Earls Court, with plenty of time to get to ground and in reasonable time. The police then took us on a 'scenic' route through Fulham and Chelsea, and via a park and a graveyard. This took 45 minutes, leaving a group of 200 or so arriving at the turnstiles as the game kicked-off. You don't need to be a genius to realise this will cause problems.

If they were keen for a police escort to be in place from that area, then they should have told everyone and got it sorted at 6.30, giving people plenty of time to get into the ground.

Just got back from a family wedding.............Sky plussed the match and was well impressed with the away support.............. "all 'round the fields........of Anfield Road......." It sounded like a home game.................brilliant away support.

A good all round performance and anyone would have wanted a free kick for that block on SG any day of the week.

Bring on Chelsea; everything crossed..............I bet they're bricking it.

Our support was superb yesterday, a complete contrast to Villa Park last season. Awesome performance from the lads in the stands, lets hope it sets the tone for the rest of the season.

5.15pm kick off on the opening day, was always going be good. But as soon as you walked into the ground yesterday and it bouncing in the concourse underneath you could tell what it would be like.

Looked like the whole top tier stood all game as well and was just as good as the lower. Well in.

For long parts of the game it sounded like ours were the only fans there. On my one and only visit to Villa Park a few years back when we won 3-0 I thought the Villa fans made a fair bit of noise so yesterday I was a bit surprised at how quiet they were or was it that we simply outsung them as well as outplayed them?

I was in the upper tier and everyone stood throughtout (except for half time ;) ) after we scored the first goal and ring of fire was being blasted out I looked at the 2 stewards who where standing at the front, they both had that amazed gobsmacked look on their faces in pure admiration, and one of them commented on the way out we have a great support caused no problems what so ever.
If my assistant had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off goalkeeper Patr Cheh. he beeped me to signal the foul. The noise from the crowd  stopped me hearing it, I have been involved at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Old Trafford, Arsenal, but I've never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. IT WAS INCREDIBLE
