Nice article in the Athletic, but they've missed a bit out. Watch Nunez's goal for us against Manchester City. Look who is behind him ready to slot it in if Darwin misses the ball.

Fantastic anticipation and positioning.

He's a wide forward for us right now, and potentially a very productive one too. Given those ball progression and defensive numbers he'll have to learn to do quite a bit of what he's now had to do much of up till now to play as an 8 for us.

Seems to have the right attitude to go alongside his obvious ability.

It's also nice that Harvey Elliott is at about the same stage in his career, they should boost each other on.

Does he start against Palace? I’m of the opinion that he should as I think we need to roll the dice on upside given the current state of our midfield.

Nah, should give Elliott a go first.

Yep, changed the rythm of the game in our favour when he came on and allowed Salah to isolate their left back.

Has to be starting.
We have such little attacking threat that really a goal only seems to come from Salah or Diaz

Was a nuisance tonight

Goal threat is something our midfield lacks. This is Henderson's 9th season and his best Premier League return is 6 and has scored only 1 or 2 in 6 of those seasons.

He was really good, can make a case for him starting in midfield, on the left and moving Diaz or on the right and moving Mo central. Deserves to start on the weekend wherever it is.

I thought he looked good today as well, but maybe that's only relative to what was there for the first part of the match.

He's got to start I feel.  We need his energy if nothing else.

This. We need a goal threat in midfield, we’ve missed this since Gerrard retired

If we want a consistent goal-threat from midfield we have to change the way our midfield - and indeed, the whole team - play.

I'm not against it; I'd quite like to see the change, but this idea that our midfielders are supposed to be scoring but are failing in their task is just nuts. Scoring goals is not really their responsibility

Would like him to have come on about 10 mins earlier.

But he's got quick feet, a bit of pace, and has a really nice shot on him.

Love watching him, he's a fantastic little player. Really positive and flamboyant, not afraid of defenders, good control and keeps the ball very close to his feet.

He's gonna be good  :thumbup
If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.

Great anti climax for those expecting jizzihno....

No way, he would die in that role right now. Needs to get stronger.

Politely disagree, he smashed the Championship last season which is far more physical than the PL.

If you're good enough, you're old enough. He's ready.

It isn't more physical. Defenders in the premier league are of a higher level.

I really like Carvalho, I believe he will be a top player and championed his signing. I also think Diaz needs to watch out because Carvalho has enough in his locker to really threaten his place, in that he has a greater eye for goal than Diaz.

But playing him now as a false 9 would be really odd.

Right now with the options available i'd play Diaz through the middle with Carvalho on the left, with Bobby on the bench. Diaz has enough physicality to do that role.

He will make it. Would start him as a striker against Bournemouth with Diaz,Fabio,Salah rotating centrally. With Elliott combining with them. Play Bobby there if you have to. He can’t play as a striker any more. He asks no questions in the box.
