I remember when playing Norwich was a question of -  how many will we score? Hugely disappointing match
That was when we had Lucifer playing for us.

Mignolet is just so damn weak

We were horribly unlucky today. Played pretty well actually but hard to see the season going anywhere when we have a keeper who can't help us grind out a win

If u can't score more than a goal against a promoted team at Anfield blaming keeper is pointless .
If the expectation is so low that we need grind and scrap against Norwich at Anfield BR have no business being manager

Anyway if its an individual player  to be blame it should be Coutinho who could have won us by scoring those sitters

Mignolet kept us in the game by making that point blank save

Meh. Look much better but a draw at home against Norwich is not really good enough is it. Early days I suppose but if we cant beat the so called easier teams at home its gonna be a tough tough season.
We just leave them be for a while, take a breather, let them settle, then bang!  All over them like a tramp on chips.

Milner played like Steven Gerrard without any of the quality and way more indiscipline. Just all over the place. We should have won that, though. Coutinho got frustrated and then wasteful as players of his quality watching the shite around them often become.

Lallana was a waste of a sub. Especially coming on for Sturridge even though Lallana did well when he did come on. Ultimately, the tactics were poor. Our players look disjointed and there seem to be no set patterns of play. No one knows what they're doing on the pitch.

I guess the plus was Moreno who was very good and Sakho who was strong throughout. He did get pulled out of position a few times in the second half when Lucas went off because we had no one to win the second balls anymore. On the whole, yet another disappointing performance. The boos from the Kop said it all. Not the whole place booing clearly, but there is serious discontent.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

I've noticed this season that we seem unable to play with any kind of tempo - the CB's/Clyne/Can always get possession and then have absolutely no movement ahead of them and the play is slowed right down and inevitably goes backwards to Mignolet. It happened plenty of times today.

I like James Milner but he was absolutely woeful today in just about everything he did.

And when we end the game with Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana all playing at the same time, that just tells you everything you need to know about Rodgers square pegs in round holes mentality. They all do the same job and in the same position but can't all do it on the same pitch at the same time, there doesn't seem to be a style or an idea of how we are going to play.

The Norwich defender/midfielder had split the pass and made Coutinho shoot, you would of hoped our best player could put a one on one away though. Was one of those days, we played them off the park and controlled their counter attacks and then we go and let our selves down from a corner.

Heartbreaking it really is.

Coutinho isn't our best player. Sturridge is.

I don't see how that was rodgers fault, Sturridge should have scored. Milner, Coutinho and Ings should have had another one too. Not like we were outplayed our players didnt take some very good chances and the keeper flaps for the equalizer.
Doesn't really matter. He is the manager he takes the blame.

One of those days.

Much improved performance as a team.

Can't think of a single bad performance, in fact there were many good ones, but we have got to be winning this. So disappointing to concede on a corner, weak.

Milner was poor mate. He's been very good this season off the ball and defensively but let himself down today technically from corners and his final balls.

After 6 games where it was Hodgson/Houllier football, that was more like Kenny in his second spell.

Created chances, poor finishing and concede from their only chance.

We look alot better with Ings rather than Benteke. Ings looks like Luis Suarez in terms of mobility compared to Benteke.

Yeah Ings suits us better
Would also like to see that shape but with Sturridge and Firmino as the 2 most advanced

Same old,  same old.

Lots of half decent football up until the final third, but really,  really clueless once we get up there. No real cutting edge. No teams fear our attack anymore.

Then, throw in the customary extremely cheaply conceded goal.

And, it's back next weekend for more of the same.

I've backed Rodgers. But, now, I'm thinking we are slowly seeing that a change could be called for.
Actually, that was quite different and positive signs were there whether you wish to see them or not. Perhaps a bit of patience wouldn't go amiss - we're not children after all.

We had enough chances to win that game.

1. In times like this players need to play for the good of the team. Coutinho should have squared that pass it was greedy and totally selfish play. He then tried to fix that by having 10 shots without looking up.

2. Mignolet is garbage. He is going to cost us lots more goals this season in addition to that one.

3. Sahko and Moreno were brilliant today. Please keep Lovrens ass on the bench.

4. Milner positional discipline and passing, especially from corners was borderline atrocious.

5. Danny Ings for is goal, and heart and guts alone deserves to start the next game.

6. Firmino will come good if played more centrally.

Surely Rodgers time is just about up.

Shows the insanity at the club if they get rid now. Allowing him to spend shed loads in the summer on players the new man (if there is one) might not even want.

The people who are after Rodgers wont agree but that was a pretty decent performance today. We created a lot of CLEAR CUT chances but couldn't finish them off.

It doesn't matter though mate if you play like Barca and end up with the same or less goals than your opponent.

Lost of words...

More commanding keeper would be nice.

Is captains armband some sort of protective shield ie manager can't sub whoever is wearing that? Or order someone else to take corners?

I like Ings' attitude.

I think Coutinho tried to find a way to pass in the very end which probably partially caused that miss. Should have scored though...

What a fucking dog shit of a goal to concede. Because we decided we dont need to compete for Petr Cech - we only needed a back to Mignolet.

But how the fuck was Milner our main (and only) addition to midfield is beyond me, really. Be interesting to see the stats, but I dont think I've ever seen a more wasteful performance from an individual. And the icing on the cake is that he came straight into the first eleven and became vice-captain. He was so bad at set pieces as well, I wanted to fucking cry.

At least we created more chances today, compared to the previous 3 games, so thats a positive I guess.

Ohh and please, pretty fuuuuucking pleaseeeeee, do not ever play Can as center back, like.. ever again, pleaseeeee!

I thought we were outstanding, the players gave everything.  Just a wee bit unlucky.  Simon's weak clearance falls to anybody else and that's a clean sheet.  We'll go back and address that issue by continuing to play Simon who will learn from this and come back stronger.

Hope City haven't swerved is a dud with Milner. He looks like he's aged  about ten yearsas a player in the Summer, though he's in a non-functioning side so it it difficult to judge.

I wouldn't read too much into at as I think pretty much the whole team is shot at the moment.

Apart from Lovren who is clearly pants  ;)

The most frustrating thing is still no consistent playing style.. At times I genuinely feel bad for us, but then realise the amount we've spent and not strengthened our midfield at all.

Lots lauding the "improved performance" but you'd hope for at LEAST that given that we were playing a newly promoted club at home. I mean if we hadn't improved it would have been inexcusable. Surely it says it all that our second best performance of the season resulted in a home draw against fucking Norwich?

The lone bright sparks were Moreno, Ings and Sakho, so credit to them. Aside from that, we're going nowhere under the current set-up and surely now everyone can see that? It's a clueless shambles out there.
