This.
City's potential stumbling blocks has been swept aside with ease. Reason why pundits are placing them as favourite.

We have to make our own statement. Without that, we will not be seen as a potential  champion at this stage of the season and put the pressure on City.

We just need to win, statement or no statement.

Think Leicester deserve some special mention.  They've outplayed ManU, Spurs and Us in the last 3 games yet have all of 1 point to show for it.  When looking at their squad it's pretty amazing how they've turned over the 15/16 squad.  Might have to start a thread on them as it's an interesting discussion in what should a team like that be aiming for?

Pretty sure that's not what they're aiming for.  Don't blame them either as that Tielemanns-Ndidi-Maddison midfield was pretty damn good today.

Eventually Chelsea and Arsenal will get their act together. They're too big not to. They'd have to try exceptionally hard not to put it better challenges to the Top 4. I mean even this season, which both would consider a pretty bad one given recent-ish history, they're only 1 point off 4th and 12 ahead of 7th.

So for Leicester to finish higher than 7th, Arsenal and Chelsea need to have seasons much, much worse than the current one and Leicester at the same time do about 15-20 points better.

Pretty unlikely. Certainly not something they can realistically aim for

As long as Chelsea end the way Arsenal end at Anfield last December, we'll be okay. :D

Maybe this isn't the right forum for this type of discussion as most team threads on here are to make fun of them.  And it doesn't even really apply to Leicester even though they're the best example in that how do you build to something more if you're at a huge income disadvantage?  Maybe the Euro Super League is the ultimate answer in that it would allow all the other teams in the leagues where they currently have no hope sans a 1 in a million season to actually start competing for things again.

New signing Miguel Almiron is among six additional players available to Newcastle since their defeat at Spurs.

Paul Dummett, Mohamed Diame, Ki Sung-yueng and Karl Darlow are back from injury, while Yoshinori Muto has returned from the Asian Cup.

I wouldn't give most of this lot a game any way, fit or not     :P

I'm hoping Almiron plays and can't wait to see what the £21million toon man is like.  I've not seen him play, no video clips, nothing.

Couple of observations. First, two sides who have won the Championship, one invested ambitiously and it shows, the other put together on cheap and that shows as well. Second, Rafa as a manager knows how to maximise the potential of a squad. Yedlin cannot tackle, lacks positional sense, cannot cross, but is somehow part of the sixth? best defence of the league, and a player that was to be loaned out to a lower league side is the starting midfielder with another player who wanted to be sold... mind boggling, when you compare it with the shambles we say yesterday.

If Wolves would get out of their structure and push forward more they'd probably be leading and already out of site.

But really it's a game between two defense first teams that don't really want the ball.  It's not a good game.

If this stays the same & Newcastle win their game in hand, they will only be 3pts off Everton.

This seasons league is crazy with anyone from 9th to 18th possibly taking the final relegation spot.

Have to own up to stating that Newcastle were wrong to replace Mitrovic with a donkey like a Rondon.

He’s grown into the ‘target man’ role and continues to improve.

As have the whole team. Fair play to Rafa.

Shocking goalkeeping. Good to see a ref finally not blow because a player went within 5 yards of a keeper.

That bloke might actually be worse than Pickford
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.
