Fair enough, thought as much. I was thinking on an angle, held at the base as well to allow for the size, but if not allowed then that's that.

Think it'd be a H&S risk as a decent tug would bring someone off the upper tier!

both - emailed Vaughan and he's more than happy to accommodate us sizing it up etc. Can't do it quite yet as too much going on in the ground still. I'll drop him an e-mail in the week before the Watford game to try and sort something for the week after

We have a problem!!

Before it's treated it gets washed- when it was washed the colours have started to come off

Looks like it's been stored away, possibly damp, in the bag and it's effected the water proofing.

The fella stopped until we had a chat - the chemical to fireproof could drain all the colour

For me for it to be used or displayed in museum it has to be treated so I say we let him try but it's your flag so what's the consensus??

We did rub some treatment on and looked like it would be ok (treatment sprayed when doing it properly)

Will wait for a few more thoughts but I'm with you in gambling

Nothing from them as yet

I thInk palace game getting less and less likely sadly

I'll call them Monday to see how they're getting on

We still want to get it into the ground for a dry run but I am struggling next week

Assuming it treats ok and we still have a flag I'll see what option are to get it to the ground and timescales and then go from there

To be honest close up the patches looked bad but I was looking at a piece A4 size. When it's unfurled a piece that size won't be noticed I guess

Definitely storing it dry is the key which the club will help sort by drying it on the seats- if we get that far!

The flag treated fine and no further colour loss etc seen so thats great news.

I have paid for the treatment and even better they have said they will deliver direct to the club for storage. I have contacted Vaughan to check that works for him. We could then do with arranging to get down and unfurl it to see whether its still usable and also if it is get it into the lower annie.

At this late stage i am going to say palace game is not achievable but once i hear back from the club i will update the post accordingly

CALL TO ACTION!!!!!

Spoke to Vaughan and Ravenhead cleaners and we have arranged 2pm Friday 25th August for the flag to be delivered to the ground

Vaughan has also offered to use that time to let a few in to do a dry run in the Anny road end - this will allow us to check the state of the flag and also the fit etc

WHO IS AVAILABLE PLEASE TO TAKE PART IN THE DRY RUN AT 2PM FRIDAY? - i cant for what its worth!!!

if you reply on here please with your name (so i can inform Vaughan and club security) we will look to get this over the line

if we dont have 3 bods for Friday, delivery will still happen but dry run will be rescheduled!

Equally if we get inundated with offers will initially go with names who have said they will be able to get the flag out in the season - cheers

reckon it'll need three - that said someone who's going to be doing it on a match day would be ideal too otherwise the dry run is for nowt.

I'd recommend we let the delivery happen so its at the club and then try again for volunteers during the international break. We have two weeks clear run at it then.

If we struggle to get someone down there then, its probably an indication of us going to struggle throughout the season.
