Trend loves vishy pick...

Him or Mascherano were my pick but thought I'd not get any other decent player who'd be able to play the formation I want to play, so went with him.  :)

TBF, it's a really clever pick and because I am well stocked going forward I never gave him a thought. You've really opened a can of worms there, mate!

I know who I'm picking (unless Flash takes him) so if anyone who follows me wants to send me their choices I can skip it along when I get the chance.

I'm happy to PM someone my pick so they know I'm not pinching theirs ;D

I was thinking 1! That way you end up having to search for league winners from leagues outside the big 5/6.

Thats a great idea :D

For a fan base that loves to remind people that football started before 1992, we don’t like to draft players before 1992 do we?

I'm guessing he demographic of most people means that they would have only ever seen Premier League players play. Aside from the the obvious pre-Premier League era players like Dalglish and Best (and most other Liverpool players), who have already been picked anyway, the rest are bound to be players who were part of the Premier League.

That comment was a bit tongue in cheek to be honest. I would be doing the same but promised myself to try look at other options if I was going to do this draft

I don't have enough star power to win the draft but I like my side a lot.

                                        GK

RB                   Van Dijk              Blanc                Ashley Cole

                      McAllister            Fabregas

Kuyt                                                                    Milner

                           Firmino          Anelka

Probably better sticking Milner in midfield and going 3 up top. Ashley Cole gives your great width down the left anyway and hopefully you can snag a decent attacking right back down the other flank.

It's really weird how few full backs are actually of a great standing when you look back, maybe it's due to the advancement and quality of fullbacks in the past few years... especially at our club.

I might be tempted to play Milner at RB if I can get a decent CM in but we seem to be running short of those ;D

When I saw him picked I assumed you had him at LB before I realised you already had Cole! Not a bad shout for RB, as you could probably do with a more defensive-minded DM alongide Gary Mac and Cesc.

O'Leary is a very solid pick, was going to be my second centre half until the rule change let me get Agger.

One of England's finest ever left backs. Played in the great Leeds sides under Revie. Was England's left back at the 70 World Cup. Quick, all left peg, though he could dig it with his right, got up and down. Played in a back four alongside Reaney, Charlton, Hunter that took no prisoners. Broke his leg, put him out for two years but was never the same.

2:44 watch. All you need to know about him and Leeds from that era

Especially on some of the mud heaps they played on. In that clip he talks about six inches deep of mud painted green at Wembley ffs. Wonder now some of the fancy dans used to playing on carpets would have handled that!

Sounds like he's been reading Konoplyanka's old wiki page. Just needs a quote from Chuck Norris now.

Not sure what are y'all talking about, those quotes are 100% legit. And there are plenty more:

"While swimming on my papi's nutsuck in sunny Spain, we used to watch old Leeds games together. He once said to me (pointing at his testicles): Son, I know you´re probably gonna end up in a tissue, but if you don't I want you to be like that man. Who that man was? No other than Jack Charlton." - Fernando Hierro

You've all been too kind to each other, both in terms of time you're affording and the respect you're showing.
