Safe to say this wasnt a good game to reference for the 1% that think Benteke would be a good signing for us like me.

Wheres this great movement from Benteke? looking a lumbering oaf so far today.

Don't listen to people on here saying he pulls wide and works the defence. He's as static as fuck. Agbonglahor does the movement.
Thank Fowler we're not getting Caulker

4-0 is the record score for an FA Cup Final at Wembley[held Man Utd with 2, 4-0 wins in the 83 replay & 94 Final] 6-0 is the all time record by Bury against Derby in 1903.

We shouldn't sign him but Villa have been awful and his game isn't reliant on taking players on

To everyone talking about how Arsenal is better in every position on the pitch, were we saying that last season?

C'mon now, yeah some players have changed, but as a whole, more is still the same.

No doubt they are class, and I'm as frustrated as everyone else by our crappy season, but there is plenty more context to that statement.

Per the game, good to see we will have a full and proper pre-season. No excuses from anyone going into next year.

They are well ahead of us have you seen how far we've fallen? Only Sturridge and maybe Sakho would get in their team from ours.

Fully fit they have a marginally less talented squad than Chelsea's.

People saying Benteke will do better with the service we give him, we left Sturridge isolated for long periods. Benteke is completely the wrong striker to be buying. It's fucking obvious.

Yes - yes it is.

He gets into the France side ahead of Koscielny pretty much every game, I don't see why he couldn't.

Koscielny is better. He's in the top three or four centre backs in the league.
Pretty happy with Arse taking it.

Disappointing.

Not quite sure the surprise at this benteke performance. He's not drogba. He's bang average. Yeah he has the odd brilliant game. But mostly bang average.

tell that to our transfer committee...if you can find out who they are obviously

Fair enough to support your team and be hopeful, but name one of our players that would get into this current Arsenal team bar Sakho or a fit Sturridge, cos I can't...
Think you and others missed the intent of my post. There is no blind allegiance.

Last year, we would all say few of their players would get in our team. This year, we are saying the opposite.

Our player's aren't purely defined by this crappy season and neither are Arsenal's by this good one. Or vice versa.

Koscielny is better. He's in the top three or four centre backs in the league.

I don't think there is much between them myself. Pop Koscielny in our team and I think he'd be a total calamity.

for Arsenal it all comes from the midfield, those centre halves have had some pretty awful games (against us springs to mind)
but when you have that much control in the midfield and the energy and movement they have in attack it takes a lot of pressure off your defence
and the opposition has to work very hard to even get the ball.

their midfield is full of good technical players and when they're allowed to dominate they will look good against most teams.

Hes just a Belgian Andy Carroll.

I actually think this would be worse. At least we can always hide behind Carroll being a panic last couple of hour signing.
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Well those saying that last year were talking shit then. Arsenal had last season, and still have this season, better players in most positions on the field. Suarez made a huge difference to how the team performed as a unit and as a whole, but player for player Arsenal have been better for years now.

I know, I know. I'm just being a bit kneejerk and not actually reasonable. I know the lad (hell, the entire team) hasn't had a good game, but still - I'm not in the best of moods so the reports of the club overpaying for a player like Benteke makes me cranky.

Honestly mate, i'd love to be saying the opposite (can't stand Arsenal) though we all know by now why we done so well last year. It definitely wasn't down to having outstanding players in every position, that's for sure.

Depressing how easily Villa are being beaten here, at the time we all knew it was an absolute disgrace to get beat by them but this just rubs it in even more. They are fucking terrible and they beat us at a canter, in our biggest game of the season.

Kos is better. Sakho would get in over Mert.

Benteke just got mauled by Kos there
