One thing noticeable in comparison to watching Rhian at Swansea is how patient our lads are.

They pass and probe until they see an opening, Swansea were just blasting from anywhere and everywhere.

Hands up towards the end of last season I didn't see Curtis Jones having "it", but his progress this season has been unreal

He's got 'it' now. If he looks after himself and stays away from temptation, he's got the world at his feet. That goal oozed class.
Big mentions for Nico Williams, Elliot and Larouci too. This under 23 team is going to save us millions.

Best we've played all season but it's probably the first time all these players have been available together.

Played superbly. The whole 'midfield' of Jones, Elliott, Clarkson, Cain, Chirivella, Larouchi and Williams just completely dominated. Their pressing was on another level.

Jones is just so beyond this level now.

It was blindingly obvious wasn't it? Head and shoulders above anybody on the pitch. Would love us to wrap the league up early doors to give him and a couple of others some good minutes in the league.

He'd start regularly for a lot of Prem sides now. Physically he's already there and has such amazing control of the football.

It's a similar situation to Trent. We've got to somehow find a way to get him playing games soon. Maybe the best opportunity might LW when we rotate.

So impressive from the lads tonight.

They are a joy to watch and probably our best group of academy graduates we've had for a while and they've not even graduated yet [emoji16]

After watching the first two Under 23 games this season - drubbings by Spurs and Chelsea - I was convinced there wasn't a single player amongst them.  Shows what I know!!

Southampton's Under 23s are bottom of the league but still a great result.

Chelsea top and unbeaten so I'd expect they'll have a few more good players coming through soon.  Man City are surprisingly only 10th out of 12.

Looks like Cameron Brannagan might be coming back to the PL, he seems to be doing very well at Oxford. From David Ornstein on The Athletic:

League One midfielder turning heads in Premier League and Championship

Cameron Brannagan dropped down to League One after leaving Liverpool but the midfielder is expected to begin climbing back up the ladder after an impressive season with Oxford United. He has attracted the attention of more than a dozen Championship sides and a couple in the Premier League.

Brannagan played nine times under Jurgen Klopp, who said the player had “everything you need” in a midfielder. “He’s strong, he’s clear, he’s cool,” said Klopp. But the 23-year-old left to gain regular first-team football and is showing his potential.

He has seven goals and has created the most open-play chances per 90 minutes of any player his age or under in League One. Of all midfielders, he has the most accurate passes in the final third and most key passes.

He only has 18 months left on his contract, so is set to cost about £1 million either in January or next summer.

Always saw him as a smart player who knows how to construct play and build passes into an attack. Would be great to see him have a good PL career.

Van den Berg is either playing below his level and taking his eye off the ball or he’s generally a bit sloppy with possession

She ive seen him he doesn’t stand out to me as ready to step up. Hoever looks more I more to me

He is only 17 right?  Very few 17 year olds are ready to step up to the 1st team.
