I don't typically hope for anyone to fail but this is one instance where I hope he's shown up like he was when he went to Rangers and acted like he was doing Scottish football a favour.

If I were a betting man I'd put money on him being back on Talksport by Christmas.  He talks a good game on the radio, he won't get any sympathy if he doesn't measure up as a coach/manager.

Fleetwood is my local team, can't believe they have appointed Barton. Mind you they change manager far too frequently and some of the previous changes and appointments have been to say the least a little odd.
It will all go pear shaped big time.

They have done incredibly well but can't help feeling they have reached their peak now, they just don't get the attendances , hard for me not wish a new manager all the best there but I can't get my head around this one at all.

I first read it as "Fleetwood Mac hires Joey Barton to be their new manager" and I thought, "What the fuck??" Then I re-read it properly as "Fleetwood Town", but my question remained the same.

Don't get me wrong i feel sorry for Fleetwood fans but i'm tired of seeing this wanker talk as if he knows it all when it comes to the game, now he has the perfect platform to show everyone how knowledgeable he is

Don't think he has the patience or the demeanor to be a manager, seems a lot like Tactics Tim™ and other wannabe passionate, "hardmen" type who talk a good game but cannot deliver anything on the field.

I'm going to go a different direction - if he's smart and hires actual real coaches (rather than his mates who need a job), then he could do something here. If tries to do it himself, then it's a shambles of an appointment.

Just goes to show how hard it is to break into the game in any meaningful way. No matter how many badges you have, or years of experience, as soon as an ex-player looks at a job, it's theirs, even if they have never dropped a cone or run a drill in their lives.

This is what happens when the BBC legitimise people like Joey Barton.

Give it a few years and it'll be Troy Deeney kicking Frank Lampard's head in.
David Platt has a face like a Michael Myers mask being stretched over a dinosaur egg.
