Great win. Good side this.

Best English ODI side I've ever seen, was 9 when we reached the World Cup final in '92 so didn't really see much of that team

Stokes is good but he's no Derek Pringle.
Rashid is good but he's no Richard Illingworth.

Was quite an odd team that one. Botham and Gooch opening,  Lamb in there too, those three must have been pushing retirement age. Hick and Fairbrother were very decent.

Basically I'd say this must be a far stronger side than that one.

Good toss for SA to win, certainly looks like they'll get the better weather to bowl in. Stokes & Morgan have recovered nicely after Root was very unlucky to be run out

Off 76 balls, very good effort indeed.

This is more like it from Buttler. Took his time to get going and could've been given out LBW when he was on about 10 but this is a good innings.

Was correct to take his time though, came in when Stokes was going well so no need to come out blasting. He got himself set & has accelerated at the right time

De Kock is an absolutely fantastic player. He's going to be the top ranked batsman in the world in one day cricket soon.

Saw a good stat earlier that we haven't posted less than 260 for about 2 years now, so we're setting competitive totals all the time. Desperately need a wicket in this match though.

Tight end this.  England should just do it, but not easy

"don't bowl length" from everyone on comms.

length ball - 6
length ball - 6

yes they were always big favourites to knock them off anyway from 10 overs out but don't help them.

I'm assuming Stokes isn't fit enough to bowl more than 3 overs. Ball has been absolutely smacked about, 10 overs, 0-81. We had better hope our batting doesn't collapse in a knockout game because our bowling isn't good enough to get us out of a hole. We need about 350 in every game.

Wow... what a last over!

SA were ahead of the run rate from the very first over.

The only time they dipped below it was the penultimate ball.

That's darn impressive!

Anyone else worried by the bowling attack?

Wood looks great, Rashid is finally fulfilling his promise, Plunkett has been good as well to be fair.

But Ball is a big concern.  Root has stopped bowling himself (not sure why, as he was doing well).

Willey seems out of favour.

I don't know, maybe I'm being harsh - but I just feel it might fall short when it comes to the crunch in the ICC Championship.

Root hasn't stopped bowling himself, Morgan is captain.

Put this in another thread but going to put it in here, I've got a spare for the England v Bangladesh Champions Trophy match on Thursday if anyone is interested?

At which point do you, as a batsman, start thinking 'hold on, we're 4 down for not many, maybe I shouldn't be swinging wildly at straight length balls'?
