2018/19 TV fixtures
« on: June 17, 2018, 02:38:25 pm »
Now the initial fixtures have been released by the Premier League, when do we expect the 1st round of TV games to be announced & for what period? Need to start booking trains etc. Would think Spurs & Chelsea away are definite TV & maybe Palace & Leicester away. Not sure about any of the homes to the end of September.

https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/premier-league-fixtures-201819-sky-14783232 says that it's usually two to three weeks after the fixtures are first announced.

bang goes the 3pm look eh!!

West Ham would make total sense given we have scheduled the Torino friendly for the Tuesday. It seemed a bit close to the Saturday in my opinion for a final pre season game so hearing we're Sunday isn't a huge surprise if confirmed. The Tuesday fixture ruled us out of being moved to the Friday thats for sure (if indeed there is a Friday game?!)

The TV companies wouldn't take into account what friendlies teams have though.

No I assumed we’d have got the inside track on the fixtures and scheduled Tuesday friendly with that knowledge?- might be wrong but I assume the clubs aren’t sat waiting to find out dates in the same way we are??

Spurs away will be the Sat. CL games scheduled the week after. Wont risk putting us or Spurs on Sunday and having to change

I was thinking 5.30pm Saturday is most likely but then wondered if Sky will make a big deal of it being the first game at the new stadium and have it on the Friday night.

Never any Friday night games off the back of an international break.

Surely a 5:30 as they want to make is as difficult as they can for away fans to travel.  ;)

Six of Liverpool's Premier League fixtures in August and September have been moved for live television coverage.

The Reds’ opening-day meeting with West Ham United at Anfield will now kick off at 1.30pm on Sunday August 12, while the trip to Crystal Palace is to begin at 8pm on Monday August 20. Both games will be shown on Sky Sports.

Brighton and Hove Albion’s visit to Anfield is now scheduled to kick off at 5.30pm on Saturday August 25 and will be broadcast on BT Sport, and Liverpool’s first top-flight match of September - away to Leicester City - has been selected by Sky Sports for a 12.30pm start on Saturday September 1.

Jürgen Klopp’s side will return from the season’s first international break with a trip to Tottenham Hotspur at 12.30pm on Saturday September 15. The game, which is set to be the first played at Spurs’ new stadium, will be shown on Sky Sports.

Finally, the Reds’ clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge will kick off at 5.30pm on Saturday September 29, and will be broadcast on BT Sport.

So West Ham home Sunday 12 August 1330 KO

Palace away Monday 20 August 2000 KO,

Brighton home Saturday 25 August 1730 KO,

Leicester City away Saturday 1 September 1230 KO

Spurs away Saturday 15 September 1230 KO

Chelsea away Saturday 29 September 1730 KO.

Southampton home only 1500 KO on a Saturday (22 September). So 6 of 1st 7 games on TV.. Home TV games a pain for me personally, will likely need hotels on the Saturday.

Not that long ago Palace away on a Monday night with people still on holiday would have got a few onto the ladder.

These days it'll sell out on 8.

Surely you're not talking about 13/14?

Don't know what you mean, played Villa away first away match 13/14.  I remember that going low because our Peter decided to go last minute and gave me a lift.

I was on about a bit earlier than that for getting on the ladder though.  Season before that I remember playing Norwich away 3.0 on a Saturday, that definitely went to all members (all members sale was window sale only).

What do you think will happen with the Everton game that is scheduled for Saturday December 1st at 15? We have a Champions league game during the week before it and the game against Burnley is scheduled for the following Tuesday December 4th at 19.45. Based on this I guess the game would be with high probability on the Saturday with maybe an early kick-off. Am I missing something, or is the Saturday pretty guaranteed? I'm asking as I'm looking at travel options for the weekend. Cheers!

If Everton moves to Sunday then Burnley would move to Wednesday. Impossible to say until they do the TV Fixtures for December which won't be till the start of October

Are they going to be still be moving games scheduled for Tuesday to Wednesday as some games (Everton-Newcastle, Spurs-Southampton) are scheduled for Wednesday already? Can't remember how this went.

They will move a game from Tuesday to Wednesday at the time the TV Fixutres are announced if a game is moved from Saturday to Sunday for TV,, and the team playing in the game moved to Sunday is also playing the following Tuesday

Ok - thank you for confirming that. :) I thought I was being clever, but then I do have to wait for the official TV announcements to see, if it's moved to Sunday.

That's the date which the Premier League said they would be announced.

But don't expect them to stick to tomorrow.

Is this for Oct/Nov? So Cardiff stays at Sat 3pm?
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."
