RAWK Tour De France Prediction 2017- General Chat
« on: June 30, 2017, 10:45:46 am »
Welcome all to the Tour de France prediction game 2017. The rules are very simple;

  • You have to select 4 riders for every stage of the Tour. There is no limit on the number of riders you can have from the same team, nor how many times you can select the same rider in the race.

  • You may captain a rider on 2 stages throughout the Tour. The riders and stages are entirely of your own choosing. Your rider will earn you double points if he finishes in the top 10 of the stage; 60 points for a win, 40 if they finish 2nd etc.

  • Scoring; Only riders finishing inside the top 10 earn points. 30 points for a win, 20 for second, 10 for third, 8 for fourth, 6 for fifth, 5 for sixth, 4 for seventh, 3 for eighth, 2 for ninth and finally 1 point for tenth. The official Tour website will be used for the placings.

  • Entries must be made before the official starting time of a stage. Entries made after the starting time will be declared void for that stage. I will post a reminder in the thread every evening of the official starting time for the following day's stage. If you feel you won't be able to get online to make picks every day feel free to make picks in bunches.

Hopefully we see a great race  :D

Ok i'll get the ball rolling as I'll forget otherwise.

I am so so fucking tempted to just do the supposedly no-brainer pick here (we all know who that is) but as I don't think its that big of a no-brainer.

STAGE 1

Jos Van Emden
Tony Martin
Primoz Roglic
Michal Kwiatkowski

It's down to rain tomorrow in Dusseldorf from 0800 thru 17.00 UK time. You might wanna check the weather before you make your final picks.

That's confidence for you.   Doesn't even need the other three rides for his team for the first stage.

Thanks for setting this up Gerry.  It always adds an extra bit of interest and attention to the race.  Pity Rcuk didnt keep their competition running for this year, but a decent makeshift solution.

Good luck all

As it's the first stage I'll allow a late entry if you select riders that haven't yet begun (2.50 British time). You can start tomorrow though.

Sagan relegated from 2nd. :(

Musty admit though and to be fair, if i had picked Cav liked you lot did I would have been pissed off seeing someone score 20 points for Sagan.

So it's as you were, other than me and Chig wasting a captain pick on Kittel who fucked up royally today.

So if I take out the highest points tally for the 1st stage - (Chig - 41 points) and the lowest (Gerry Attrick- 8 ) . then divide by 3 --- that equals 26.3 points.

I'm gonna add 26 points to my tally, mentally hahahaha

Ohhhh and ...
