Thought he did pretty well. As did most of our players in midfield - they won the ball back quickly, but it was just that little bit in the final third which we couldn’t get today. Clearly Fat Sam had them playing deep to stop our counters, so we basically tried to play a different game - try and have the quality out wide and in Solanke as the target man to play off. It’s a low percentage way of trying to get goals at the best of times, but I think with the congestion in their box it didn’t work. I don’t think that’s on Alex, he put in some screamers of crosses (as did Robertson and Milner), we, as a team, just don’t know how to play that way. I think there was one amazing cross which didn’t see any one attack it.

Of course, there was that one which Salah should have buried and hey, we’d be talking about a genius move by Klopp in playing that way.
Agree , our delivery from wide areas was excellent today, best for a long time. Ox, robbo, Milner and Gomez all put in some great balls.
94 Corner to us. Last kick. Ali in the box and he’s scored

Looking better and better each game. Seems like the long term replacement for Milner. Can play nearly everywhere and seems to be one of our better tactical players. Hopefully he scores a hattrick against Arsenal.

He played well yesterday. He is quick, strong and has a lot of skills on the ball. He could be a good midfielder for us once he learns more from Klopp. We have to admire his courage to leave Arsenal to join us on lower wages. Hope he will continue to improve and get into the first 11 soon. Like others said above, he is a younger, faster, more skilful version of Milner, which will be very useful for us in the near future.

Was also impressed by him yesterday. He just needs a bit of the Salah superman go for everything attitude and he could be a great addition for us.

Still haven’t seen enough of his shooting ability to pass judgement on that which will ultimately be the deciding factor for him.

I thought he played well and shouldn't have been subbed. We are in a really good position when players like him are "squad players" for us.

Having spent so many years at Arsenal, I think it will take him some time to relearn shooting and some defensive skills. But at the same time, due to his Arsenal background, he has a lot of confidence in dribbling, passing and is always comfortable when being pressed by opposite players which certainly is unique amongst our existing midfielders bar the little magician.

thought he did well yesterday, has a tendency to over hit crosses but he'll sort that out. would've like to have seen him pop up in the middle every so often, get in the shooting positions that Henderson did.

I think the better version of Milner shouts are pretty accurate.

Wasnt convinced when we bought either, but I trust Klopp on this one.

Was very good yesterday, kept the ball under pressure and provided an extra attacking threat when he drifted wide.  Some nice switches of play too.

Offers pace, decent pass and holds the ball better than others but won't name names!

I'd trust Milner over AOC any day of the week.

But then again I also think Milner is our most under-rated player.

Would love for him to get outside the box when we work it to the edge. Too many times yesterday the ball dropped to the outside and nobody was near it to have a shot.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

Henderson shanked a few good ones... Miss Gerrard terribly anytime I see someone just shank them from outside the box..

Excellent performance, his pace and constant forward movement galvanised his midfield team-mates today I thought.....captain'esque behaviour with the c*nts from Sly afterwards too...hats off

I was always on the wanting to get him side of the fence, he seemed perfect for Klopp to mold and has the versatility to give us cover in multiple areas. Yes the price tag was madness considering his contract situation, but Chelsea had already agreed to pay it.
Simply fact is he is here for his best years, can be a dynamic midfielder, a wide attacker or a wingback and obviously wants to play for us.

Brilliant

Delighted for him as it cant have been easy coming in with arsenal fans acting like he was never any good then our fans acting like he's a pointless signing. After a slow start getting himself up to speed he  now looks at home in our side and is linking with his teammates well.

The best thing about it all is that you can see there is still a lot more to come from him. Personally without Coutinho playing at CM i would ensure he's in there to bring some drive and creativity which we simply dont have when gini, can, henderson and milner line up there together

He needs to use his main strength more often and look to beat players and commit them. He just seems a bit passive at times.

Good performance though.

In terms of his shooting, he would do well to look at Kane

Remember reading a while ago he isn't fussed about top corner (Not that Oxlade Chamberlain is either) he mainly looks to slot it bottom corner and make it difficult for the keeper. Alex hits his shots with so little backlift but he hits them very central, if he can start going bottom corner he will make it near impossible for keepers to get down to them

Watching him shoot reminds me of this old video of him and what he has in his locker (Yes i realise its just training but in terms of his technique)

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/v/Tnzqm6zsawlc" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">https://www.youtube.com/v/Tnzqm6zsawlc</a>

Played really well today. His end product still needs work but under Klopp I'm sure that will improve. His energy, running and simply his attitude on the pitch will be pleasing Klopp in buckets. His passing is a bit more simple at times now too, early on he was trying Hollywood balls trying to impress. And hats off to him for his post-game put down of that reporter, that was class.
