OMG I am shocked by this. I seem to remember it was Shaun who helped Rafa get a lot of our cards when he was sacked - and helped Rafa get thank yous back to people who hadn't provided an address too I think. RIP. x

Im here a long time but don't post often. But he was one guy that when I seen this name I always read and enjoyed his posts. Always thought he had a good view of what was happening. And he wasn't a wind up merchant, or didn't cause any rancour. Just a lovely poster, and I'm sure he was a lovely guy in real life as well. He'll be missed on here.

Saddened to hear this and saddened that we we've only just become aware of his passing.

I didn't know the lad, but 'knew' him of sorts through his posts. Isn't that the way with many of us in this 'community'? A stalwart of this forum, I can only echo the sentiments of others, he'll be sorely missed.

I met him myself a few times, quite often before European matches, a lovely guy and very funny.

Oh that's just dreadful news. Absolutely dreadful. An incredibly intelligent fella - a doctor, and not only that, he'd effectively restarted his life in recent years, starting a new course at Cambridge doing Physics was it?

Thoughts very much with his family, that's terribly sad.

Very sad news and genuinely shocked when heard.

Many a laugh, many a story and many a pint shared with Shaun over the years.

As already been mentioned - a real caring side to him as well and he made sure people were looked after in different circumstances.

A while back he had asked about all meeting up again for another euro away - gutted that we didn’t get to do it.

Oh God, I've only just seen this news. Two years ago as well? Gutted. He had said I could crash on his floor in 2014 if the title went down to the last day as he had booked accommodation for him and his lad and a few others but I had nowhere to stay. Sums up the sort of great fella he was as always looking out for everyone else. Was fortunate enough to spend some great times with him in the mid to late 2000's across Europe and at Anfield. I feel awful that he has passed all this time and I never even knew about it.

I remember him being so proud of his son who works/worked for Hawkeye.

Christ, I didn't know. He wasn't that old I'm sure. I remember him coming over and giving me a rare, limited edition bottle of Millennium malt Bushmills to give to my Dad for his 65th because his patients would buy him whiskey and he preferred red, so I sent him the best bottle of red I could find and afford as a thanks and he still tried not to accept.

Generous to an absolute fault, and a bloody liability on the ale. Remember him staying at the flat I was living in & my room/en suite was the same level as the living room he was kipping in. Scared the living daylights out of me walking in in the wee small hours to go to the toilet, got lost on his way back out and tried to climb into my bed before getting turfed out and apologising profusely

I'm sure there's a drop or so of that bottle of Bushmills left so I'll get my Dad to toast to his memory. RiP Shaun, my favourite Norn Iron bone cutter

Like everyone else really shocked to read this. I met him a couple of times as even though we moved with separate groups we kind of all knew eachother travelling around Europe in the 2000's. I moved away in 09 so lost touch but this has saddened me. RIP Shaun.

Oh bloody hell I just seen this ! I exchanged a good few messages with Shaun about a few things particularly my daughters condition. We live in the same place. The pub that he used to go to I often went to sometimes and we planned to meet a few times for a pint or 2 but never did. He was convinced I'd recognize him when I seen him and I'm actually going there tomorrow and was wondering just today if he was still about and this caught my eye. RIP Shaun, thanks for your many words of advice. I'll raise a glass to you

Shaun used to help sort me tickets to games back in the 2001/2002 era, lovely man and was a pleasure to have a drink with in the Sandon.

Was just browsing and saw this thread & suddenly realised Shaun was so kind to get a few tickets for the Open at Portrush three years ago. The soundest of guys as we didn't know each other but pretty much said the tickets were face value, I met him with a wee bag containing two golf shirts n hat from the Old Head n he refused to charge me a penny for the three tickets. I could tell he really was sound out as went out of his way to make sure we had a great day watching Shane win a historical Open. If you are browsing this from above Shaun thank you again for a memory of a lifetime. RIP Shaun as gone too soon.
