I also looked this up when I heard it this morning. Last season was a bit of an anomaly though… because of the crammed season. It seems GW14 or GW15 he sits out under Klopp - whatever tends to fall midweek but last year it was Palace in GW14. When he came off the bench to score 2. He played the 2 league games before that (the midweek was Spurs at home) and he played the pointless CL game when we had qualified at Midjtlland.

Definitely something in this.

Also saw a stat which said in the last 10 games v Everton, he has only started 6 of them. Scored just twice. Maybe Klopp doesn’t like the prospect of Everton injuring him?

I really thought Milan would be his rest next week. But now I am thinking it’s tomorrow night or Wolves on Sunday.

Interesting about the Everton appearance rate. It seems like it'd be a bold PR move to bench him for the derby a week after playing the full 90 in a dead CL rubber. The fact that he doesn't need to play the next CL game either may change things this year, but on the other hand Mo will want to play at the San Siro, surely. So it could be a supersub appearance tonight. No worries, he'll still score a brace, just no midfielder clean sheet point :).

Unfortunately there is evidence to show he has played dead rubber CL games before being rested for a League game.

What I have noticed in the games he has not started:

Stoke (a), Burnley (a), Everton (h), Palace (a) - is that they are physical games. Maybe games likely to pick up an injury/bad challenge.

I'd Re-phrase and say he didnt start rather than didnt play

I dont think he played the Everton one at all but the other three he came on and scored

Yep, fair point! He just didn’t start. The Everton (h) game he missed, he was subbed on 70 the game before and missed Palace (a) the week before due to being injured on international duty.

However he didn’t score v Burnley. Got one against Stoke two against Palace off the bench.

I'm on the Dennis bandwagon. Brought him in for Jimenez, since Wolves have stopped scoring and have a horror run of fixtures in December. Won't be a sub for me, 3-4-3 all the way, scrubs on the bench.

Took a -4

Jesus and Jota in for Vardy and Sarr.

Even with Jesus being very in and out, Jota should be starting most games for the foreseeable.

Nice bit of business if I say so myself. 74 point week, top of both my leagues. Allez Allez Allez!

had a one and two fest, really quite drab indeed. 2 straight red games, bad week. Not for us of course, so thats all good.

CMo of course, but that's just par these days. Its great though, this year and his first year in particular make up for the CRon horror years of the distant past, shoes on the other foot now. somewhere out there there's a hardcore manc fan who doesn't pick Liverpool players pulling huge whacks of hair out of his head once or twice a week  ;D

822, 79 points for me this week after triple captaining Mo - knew we were going to smash the blueshite all over the park :-)
Also have had Jota and Trent in my side since the season started so I've been reasonable enough.  Keeping up my policy of never selecting Man Utd players since I started doing FPL has been great as well - overpriced wankers anyway! Much better value to be had elsewhere.

Poor gameweek all round. Regulion transferred in, gets booked and goes off after 20 minutes. Easiest clean sheet of the season and he misses it. Vardy on the bench, Toney down with covid and Jota missing a sitter.

First time under 50 this week, just the 47. Bloody Everton had to go and make a comeback!

Might have to start thinking about AFCON soon, I've got quite a few players set to depart. Didn't realise previously that Dennis was one of them, thought he was French or Belgian or summit.
