Fuck am I pissed with this result. When are we gonna learn? Stupid draws are what cost us the title last season, now we start the season with another Brentford like result.

Midfield wise we didn't have control of the midfield. Same as the Brentford game, and same conclusion, we need a midfielder who can control the game. Bright side was that Elliot is a good prospect as a creative outlet, however we need to buy a midfielder, like Jude Bellingham.

Attack wise Nunez was a delight, his directness, pace, physical presence, and finishing instinct all bode well for the season. Should have started him instead of Firmino.

Still angry with this result. 2 stupid points dropped. When are we gonna learn from our mistakes of drawing stupid games...

Nothing against Firmino but he was making it harder for us. Dropping deep into a midfield that was already congested. Nunez on the other hand stretched the play and gave space to everyone.

started slow and a bit disjointed overall. Playing your first game away is always a pain. Pretty much losing all the second balls.

Milner made a difference. Elliot also. Darwin and salah got a goal so there was some good. Some shite performances as well.

I don't want to single Trent out as he had a much better second half but he needs competition for his spot - just in general as sometimes he looks almost lethargic in his play. Henderson also not great today.

Maybe a good kick up the arse for us though. Certainly wouldn't say no to some youthful energy in our midfield.

Lacked intensity and drive from midfield for much of the game. Haven’t been that disappointed in the team’s lack of effort since we got thrashed 7-2 by Villa. Clumsy by van Dijk on the penalty, pretty clear on the slow mo replay he got Mitrovic. Love the look of Darwin, he made such a difference when he came on.

Our sicknote midfield is a massive worry. We need another CM, yesterday.

Our performance was excellent compared to the ref, otherwise shite. Another year of that shite, awesome. Reffing will not improve, VAR wont improve. Might as well just play without refs at this point really, there are not a single competent ref in this league.

We underestimated them, certainly looked like this. At the same time our whole team was pretty bad, slow. No rythm, no sharpness. When you cant do the simple passes right you will struggle. Darwin, Diaz and Elliot looked like they wanted it, an Mo woke up in the second half a bit. The rest need to wake up a bit.

A terrible start to the season. One can hope it only goes up from here..

See I don’t think City are a shoe in this season, quite a few ins and outs there. That makes today’s result more infuriating because I think we’re favourites. Elliott has to start moving forward, moves the ball quickly and spots chances to play forward. Shout out also to Milner who was excellent.

There was an element of complacency and arrogance in our play. First game of the season. Better to get a slap in the face now and wise up early. There was contact, knee on knee. No angle showed the contact itself clearly, but one from the side/behind showed Mitrovic's knee jerk back at the moment of contact. As that was the leg he was about to shoot with, enough for him to go down.

All teams are starting early this season, thanks to the stupid world cup later in the year, it's quite clear that most managers have been making this point about wanting longer preparation time. We can win a one off match like last week sure, but then going straight into the league and with the inevitable injuries we've suffered, I am not entirely surprised. Also Silva was unhappy about the time as well despite Fulham coming into this game fresh.
