Smalling, Rio, Vidic are all doubtful. I don't know how fit any of them are.

And I meant positive result. I'm fed up of losing to you lot. Ever since I joined RAWK I've had nothing at Anfield.
Twigg - you think Fergie won't go 5 in midfield with Anderson, Fletcher and Carrick?

Bad feeling about this game, our backline is decimated at the moment, but CM is where we might struggle. Will take any kind of result if you offered it me now. I expect:

------------Da Gea
Smalling - Jones - Vidic - Evra
Nani-Anderson-Fletcher-Young
--------Rooney-Welbeck------

De Gea

Smalling               Jones            Vidic             Evra

Nani               Anderson             Fletcher             Young

Wellbeck             Rooney

V

Carroll

Suarez                 Gerrard                     Kuyt

Adam                Lucas

Enrique             Agger              Carragher               Johnson

Reina

fergiw will play one up top, 3 in midfield so his wingers can be played. Im worried we may lose out in midfield personally.

Twigg - you think Mr Alex Ferguson won't go 5 in midfield with Anderson, Fletcher and Carrick?

He hasn't done it for ages has he? I remember the fiasco a few years ago when Berbatov/Tevez and Rooney played, and last year it was Chica and Rooney. I hope he plays 4-5-1 to be honest, but I'm really not sure. Ferguson has a thing about playing players in form, even if they aren't necessarily suited to the match (Giggs in CL final, forcing Tevez/Berbatov and Rooney into same team etc etc).

To be honest i am not bothered what Utd put out against us its more about our application and our duty as fans to make it a cauldron its worked recently with us fielding so called inferior sides against them, we have a fully fit squad, better than last years so why are we worried, play with the normal high tempo and take our chances and we win the game

Can't fuckin wait for this.

Even better can't wait to see Gerrard start. If he doesn't then we could struggle going forward as we have done this season with no real link up between midfield and attack. If he does then an attacking quartet of Gerrard-Kuyt-Suarez-Carroll backed up by Downing and Bellamy later on should be enough.

Vidic starting would be great. Suarez running at him as Torres did should be a great sight  :D
If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.

Great anti climax for those expecting jizzihno....

It's the most nervous game of the season for me in the league. Besides the one at Old Trafford. I've grown up watching you beat us the majority of times so obviously there is trepidation. Although saying that mate, when the goals go in, especially during that season we actually challenged you, the goal celebrations (even in my local pub) are absolutely epic.

Where I am, everyone supports Arsenal or West Ham but hate United, so when Torres scored that equaliser in 09, we all bundled in the corner, drinks, tables, stools, everywhere  :wave I hope I am kicked out of my student bar tomorrow  8)

Interesting that I should come on here to read this post from a United fan! I just came on to say that I had changed my mind since yestersday, and after looking at how United are most likely to line up, I felt that midfield is where this game is there for the taking from us... In my United team I had Rio CB with Jones at RB, no Smalling, and I had Hernandez partnering Rooney up front, not Welbeck, but the same basic principles still apply - 442, with Fletcher and Anderson centre mid

I proposed yesterday that we play 442 as i felt that Carroll merited keeping his place in the team, more so than Adam definitely, but I really think we should play 451/4231 now, ala:

                              Reina

     Kelly     Carragher     Agger     Enrique

                    Lucas          Adam

          Kuyt          Gerrard          Downing

                              Suarez

Bench: Doni, Johnson, Skrtel, Spearing, Henderson, Bellamy, Carroll

That midfield triangle of Lucas, Adam and Gerrard will allow us to control the game, yet i don't see going 451 at home to United as negative, coz like i said, you can just as easily call it 4231 as I have set it out above... I believe Downing is interchangeable for Bellamy, or even Maxi, but whoever the 4 personel, the fluidity, the creativity and the quick passing football between those 4 would be just a potent as United's front 4

Am fairly sure they will play 5 in midfield with it being Cleverly, Anderson and Fletcher if all fit. They won't want us to control the game from there again like we did last season.

Hopefully we do though and get at their full backs, Evra has been poor of late and it looks like they will have a CB playing at RB, hoping it's Jones as he looks a little lost out there.

If we win, I'll be over the moon. I'll go out that night and I'm sure Manchester would be buzzing.

If we lose, I'll stay in, eat a lot of pizza and argue with my girlfriend.

Luckily being a United fan I've had some great moments over the years, but these losses always annoy me. I broke my radiator after the 4-1 loss, and the TV in my room hasn't had a control since Everton scored 2 in the last 5 minutes against us.

I'm hoping Gerrard and Agger start -think that'll make the biggest difference to how we play. Otherwise I'd just keep the side the same as against the bitters. Cmon you Redmen!

You feel with us its about who scores first. I think if we get the first goal we should go on and win it. I wouldn't be too optimistic though if they score first. Just dont think we have that comeback spirit or the invention.

All I want to see is that we really have a go and give them no time whatsoever on the ball pressing up the pitch.

It seems to be happening a lot recently. Obviously the Arsenal v Tottenham game had some of it, the Everton fans at home to you as well.

Don't know what can be done to stop it to be honest, it's deplorable, but it happens. I do wish sometimes the managers and clubs would just ignore it, I don't think that they do themselves any favors by bringing it up.

This.Unless things go remarkably wrong, our midfield is way better than others.
If we can play to our potential,we'll win by 2 goals. That's a cracking eleven we've got.
But if we allow them to settle, they can destroy us.Especially if we create 20 chances and convert none.
Gerrard and Suarez are key.
Get the early goal, put them under pressure, get the crowd behind us,and it will be magic.

Very nervous time of the epl calendar for me.
Carragher is very shaky this season. Gerrard Returns. Kenny revealed full team is fit for selection tomorrow. It will be good time to start Coates with Agger. Expecting demolishing win for liverpool as always 3-0 (Gerrard, Suarez, Carroll).
It's easy to support a team that is winning titles and playing beautiful football but it requires patience, loyalty and heart to stick with one that has deprived its fans of a league title for two decades.
