I haven't been to Villa park for quite some time now but when I did we were always in the North Stand, yesterday we were in what looked like the corner of the Doug Ellis Stand. When did that happen?

They moved away fans a good few years ago now to get all home fans behind the goal

Thanks, as I said it's been quite some time since I last went to Villa Park. I always felt a bit sorry for those in the executive boxes at that end, having the fingers constantly given to them and their windows covered in spit. Still, rich bastards eh?

I used to stand on the Holte End for neutral venue Cup games, brilliant end that. Massive terrace, held more than our standing Kop too at one time.

Nice ground Villa Park, always like it.

(Edit... I think we won the League Cup Final once at Villa Park, I was in the Holte End for that game, I remember Jockey Hansen scoring down the other end, could be mistaken like, my memory is a bit shit!)

Never did that but having lived in the Midlands for a number of years I stood in the away ends of a few clubs as it was easier to get tickets. WBA was interesting as I could hardly understand a word they were saying. Better than the away end too as you could actually see the ball above head height.

I think it actually works for the home team having the away allocation on a side rather than an end.Be great if our away allocation was the Annie road end of the main or kenny stand and have the Annie road all Liverpool.

At least 2007 I think because I remember Gerrard scoring his last minute free kick and celebrating in that corner.

I always thought it was a bit of a shithouse thing to do, just like when away fans are put 'in the gods'.
Glad we have more class than the clubs which do that.

Its against PL rules to do that now, and any clubs still doing that will have to move them.

The ball boy in the second half who wasted tine by walking over and passing the ball back to Heaton instead of through ing it. (I reckon) I wanteD him thrown out at one point.  It was like watching Stoke and their towels a few years back (when they were for Stoke players only)

It's always been my favourite away. I first went in 85 I think when a young Mark Walters gave Phil Neal the runaround. I was always in the Whitton Lane when I went . The FA Cup game in 1988sticks out as we had the whole Whitton Lane and of course my favourite away ever.... the Milk Cup 2nd Replay against Arsenal in 1989. That was one crackers night that.

Edit.

Not sure about having the whole Whitton Lane in 88 but we deffo did in 89.

Met a woman in the loos at her first game -she was proudly telling everyone. From Norway.

Not having a go at her; it just typified yesterday's crowd - a mixture of Scouse, loads of London-based fans, other Brits and quite a few from abroad. Most sand around us though so been at plenty worse.

Let's face it, it's a shithole ::) Lots of us agreed, it's not fit for a PL club in many ways and we'd happily bulldoze it :D

It's been dire all season. Closed shop combined with touting has absolutely killed it. Just the same faces who go every game combined with daytrippers who've paid through the nose. No new blood to freshen it up.

The fact it's 30 for all Prem aways now has probably made it worse, as those who can actually get them know they can sell them for a lot more.

Not sure how touts are still going! Are the club just turning a blind eye to it all. The touts showing ID to keep hold of their members card/STH isn’t exactly solving the problem. The only benefit to the ID process is that someone will be accountable for touting when caught

That girl for example at her first ever game...all you need to do is find out who paid for that seat and cancel the members card/STH until they can investigate further

Not sure she bought off a tout tbf - think she said a friend sorted her a ticket, but who knows how he got it or the price

Personally, I can think of dozens of grounds I'd rather go to than Selhurst Park so at least we can't accuse her of glory-hunting! :D

Not if she doesn't normally go. I don't care if people abroad support Liverpool. My issue is with tourists seemingly getting tickets over supporters. More at home games to be honest although I get your point. But the issue is with tickets being passed on...

Away touting is just as bad, if not worse, than the home touting. It's such a closed shop with requiring so many on your card to even get a look in that those who have are selling the 'lesser' aways for a fortune and then keeping the other aways for themselves (or even worse selling them all).

Club needs to crack down on it, and must be easier to do given the smaller numbers buying tickets.

It's hard to know how they could do this effectively. Because at the moment day-trippers and season-ticket holders are locked in a deadly embrace. The embrace may be curated by the touts. But the fundamental problem lies elsewhere.

From memory I was in the opposite end to the goals, I was in the West Ham end at Wembley, good job it was 0-0..

I get stuff like this too. The two cup games against Everton at Goodison in the late 80's I was in the Gladyws or whatever its called but legged it ' round for the last 20's to be in the Park End stand. I think it was the Beglin leg break game in the Milk Cup but the next day I think it was the FA Cup game when I legged it ' round. It does get a bit confusing .

Ultimately it prob comes down to collecting tickets prior to entry and ID being checked with a given name when the ticket was purchased. Think they've tried this with euro aways, and no doubt it's a complete fucking nightmare.
