Not so good.

That was a massive achievement at Headingley. I think I'm right in saying that no one had ever done that before in any first class fixture. Not Vaughan, not Boycott, not Hutton, not Sutcliffe.

Most of those runs are down to third man as well, aren’t they? They’ve barely played a shot to him.

He’ll have had days where he’s bowled better, but I bet he’s loved today. Especially as he got to do fuck all in Sri Lanka!

Although, I do believe the WICB have been using the Dukes for a few years, but it goes to show the difference of playing cricket with a proper ball. No surprise that it produces an even contest.

Get these last two this afternoon for a sub 290 score and its advantage England.

Bat for a day and a half and have a nice little first innings lead of 80-100....

Easy this cricket lark isn't it?

Genuinely though - if the top 4 can play sensibly and be as watchful but progressive as the WI top order, I'd be looking forward to upping the scoring when the big hitters in the middle order come in. England in a good position but still need to play good cricket.

Two of Roach, Holder and the Archangel average around 21 at home apparently. I’d say bowling is definitely their stronger suit so I think this could still be quite a tight game unless we avoid our usual 60/3 scenario.

Did well not to get frustrated there and start chasing wickets.

Huuuggeee test for the top order here. No daemons in the pitch (yet) but a good bowling attack that'll cause problems. Knuckle down, bat the day and till lunch tomorrow and they'll be well ahead!
