Looks quite boxy, if that makes sense.

makes plenty of sense as thats how i described the williams

ferrari is nice but the Mission whoever they are take away from it a bit. if it wasnt on the shark fin and rear wing and they were just red it would be great

Mission Winnow is Philip Morris.  It's basically thinly-disguised, subliminal tobacco advertising.  I don't mind the look of it and it looks better (less boxy) in the launch video than the picture shown above.

I don't mind the black. Makes it a bit more aggressive looking. I'm not into the Mission thing either, the logo and such, wasn't last year as well.

It's got some square shoulders/elbows. Does make the cars look more aggressive.

Going to be really interesting to see them out on a track. Hamilton already talking the Mercedes up after doing a few shake down laps.

Mission is just a sub company created to advertise PMI (Philip Morris International) as I understand it as Tobacco Advertising is illegal?

On the Mission website it's just a bunch of mumbo jumbo about leading change etc but can't really see what they do besides being an arm of a global tobacco company  ::)

There was someone's mock-up of the Williams that I saw on Reddit that's ten times better than the real thing.

Still can't work out why Mercedes would want inwash front wing end plates. Anyone have an idea why?

Looking at them, they seem the same as the other teams.

Looking at them, they seem the same as the other teams.

The end plates on frontwing bend inwards towards the car. All other cars outwards to direct flow outside of front tyres.

They make a point about it on autosport saying it was used in 2009 but didn't work so teams changed.

"Uniquely, the endplate wall curves slightly inboard, probably working in conjunction with the shape of the adjacent elements in creating a vortex that helps with the outwash of the airflow".

F1 Testing underway.

Red Bull back with traditional livery.

Fastest time on Day 1 last year was Danny Ric with a 1:20.179

Current fastest time is Vettel with 1:19.706 but note that by the end of testing last year the front runners were in the 1min 17s

Fastest in the speed traps too.

Speed trap figures at the end of the main straight:

Verstappen 320km/h
Perez 319km/h
Sainz 318km/h
Raikkonen 318km/h
Vettel 314km/h
Grosjean 307km/h

Encouraging for Renault powered cars, if they really are playing safety first and turning the engine down in the early tests.

Very interesting that the Red Bull is fastest in the traps. We all know that Adrian Newey could make a piece of dog shit aerodynamically fantastic, so fastest in a straight line as well is promising. Obviously extremely early yet.

Laps are the only thing I'm interested during testing. The likes of Ferrari and Mercedes were always going to be strong. But stamina and reliability for the rest of the teams is the the biggest indicator.

Williams losing 2 days of testing is a real gut punch.

This season has the potential to be truly competitive in the middle order so want every team to get a fair crack at it
