Am I right in thinking that tickets for US based pre-season games cost a packet? Nearly went to the game in Michigan last summer; wouldn't mind  attending one this summer, but not if payment is via the nostrils

I went to the game in Michigan -- it was around $60 a ticket if I remember right.

Are the games on the past US tours so close together? Or is 5 days between them normal?

Anyways, enjoy if you go to see one, we always have great support over there  :wave

I wonder if they are less of a rip off than those Champions cup games.

Not that it matters much to me, as I won't be bothering  ;D

Anyone been to these before? Do the squad hold open training sessions etc? Really tempted to go to New York but it costs a fortune and I dont want to be paying all that money to sit in row z.

FYI, the AFCON runs from the 21st of June till the 19th of July with Salah, Mane and Keita participating with their national teams, Copa America running from the 14th of June till the 7th of July with Firmino, Fabinho and Alisson participating with Brazil and the UEFA Nations League finals running from the 5th till the 9th of June with Hendo, Trent, Van Dijk, Gini and Shaqiri playing with their national teams, it wouldn't be unreasonable not to have most of these players playing the US tour anyways.

Anyone been to these before? Do the squad hold open training sessions etc? Really tempted to go to New York but it costs a fortune and I dont want to be paying all that money to sit in row z.
Used to be the case under Rodgers, not sure if Klopp will do the same or not.

I went to one in Baltimore a few years ago, when Rodgers was manager, it was fucking awful  ;D  Didn't even bother looking about the other stuff though to be honest.

Only other one I've been to was Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich, and again, just went to the game!

I know when they had that training camp over in the US in Kloppo's first pre-season, they did hold a couple open sessions. But this trip looks like it may be a quick one?

Last year, there were training sessions open to the public, usually the day before, but I believe tickets were limited primarily to official supporters clubs in the States.

Watched them the past two times at Fenway both v Roma - good historical baseball stadium but not an ideal ground for a match.

Fenway Kop have been seated in the bleachers section behind the goal.

Plenty of pubs outside the ground.

Gillette Stadium would be a better venue but artificial turf would be shit!

Thanks for the replies, folks. Would love to go but the prices are crazy and that’s just for flight and hotel. Im sure if we end the season the way we are all dreaming about Mrs. Rawkus can be convinced to dip in to our savings :)

Went to the Baltimore match in 2012 vs. Spurs.  As said earlier, it was awful because the match started at Noon in 90 degree F and 90% humidity, with no shade in the stadium at all.  Couldn't have it in the evening because the baseball Baltimore Orioles were scheduled for the same evening and it would have created a parking nightmare.

Went to the match at Yankee Stadium in 2014, and it was brilliant.  Pubs outside the stadium, parade going in, and the outfield bleachers was "the Kop".  Vs. Manchester City, and the place was 90% RED.  Training session was held at Princeton University a day or two prior to the game

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyK8PlFVKUc

Went to the match at MetLife Stadium last year, ... was OK only because it rained all day and evening.  Again, vs. City, and the stadium was definitely RED.  Prices at Yankee Stadium and MetLife were about $100 per ticket.  A ripoff for a pre-season friendly, but I attribute that to LFC participating In the International Champions Cup, while this year, they are not, and playing independently from any "cup competition".

I see that tickets will be available soon, but details on how to purchase haven't been provided yet.

Just got 4 tickets in the Liverpool section for $80 ticket including all the fees. Could be worse.

Hopefully a decent squad given no World Cup or Euros. Obviously Salah, Keita and Mane could be a risk given Afcon.

Was that through the RedSox Season ticket correspondence?  Ticketmaster?  What online source did you use?

Some more matches announced.

Tranmere Rovers (July 11) and Bradford City (July 14) will be the first opponents of the summer, with the latter a charity match in aid of the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.

Liverpool then head across the Atlantic, where they will play Borussia Dortmund in Indiana (July 19), Sevilla in Boston (July 21) and Sporting CP in New York (July 24).

Next up is a friendly against Napoli at Murrayfield in Edinburgh (July 28), after which Jurgen Klopp‘s squad will head to France for a training camp.

While there, they will cross the border to Switzerland to play Lyon in Geneva (July 31), ahead of the Community Shield against Man City at Wembley on August 3/4.

And finally they take on David Wagner’s Schalke at Anfield on August 6, giving the late returners a chance to fine-tune their fitness before the season begins proper.
And all the world is football shaped, It's just for me to kick in space. And I can see, hear, smell, touch, taste.
