:lmao

Andy Carroll can cure AIDS with a touch of his hair.

Isn't that his nickname with all the Newcastle players? Sure I read it was! :D

Because he looks like an Avatar and he's about 12 foot tall?

Controversially, if it came down to a choice between selling Suarez and selling Carroll, I’d sell Suarez.

Quote from: Wikipedia
On 14 September 2008, Carroll was arrested by police called to the Pudding Chare in Newcastle responding to a report that a woman had been assaulted, and later accepted a police caution for assault. In 7 December 2009, he was arrested in the aftermath of a nightclub brawl, accused of smashing glass in a man's face outside of the Blu Bambu night club in Newcastle city centre. He was also arrested after an incident on the training ground which allegedly left teammate Steven Taylor with a broken jaw. He was charged with assault and is currently on bail awaiting a Crown Court trial.

Fucking beast! Thought he was excellent today, goals aside. His movement was top notch and he almost always picked out the right pass. Three well taken goals as well, probably the best performance I've seen at St.James', rivalling Gerrard's from 08/09.

Why doesn't he have a thread already? Big, strong, a bit of pace, prolific goalscorer, and he's only 21.

He has UEFA cup experience and scored his first senior goal past Buffon - just put the marker down for the rest of his career really?

He's Newcastle's number 9, their answer to our Fernando... i'll be the first to predict that he will score more goals than Torres this season - no shame in that. Also think he willbe England's main striker at the next WC.

Discuss.

Thommo got it spot on yesterday on soccer saturday, he highlighted Caroll's movement last week, said it didn't matter he missed sitters because he was doing everything right up until then and the goals would come.

he's like big Dunc, but i'll give credit where credit is due, the lad has brilliant movement, Van Nistelrooy esque, though he's got the tendency like big Dunc to go round twatting people. Better then England's current no9 incumbent c*nt.

In a decent side, maybe. Still doubtful, but maybe.

In a newly promoted side like Newcastle? Not a chance in hell. They wont come up against a side that crumbles like Villa every week.

If the FA are serious about bringing in the youth then instead of jerking it mentally over Wilshire at this early stage (and the ridiculous "o noes he's out of the squad already :("), they should be getting the likes of Carroll in the squad, and Rodwell and Johnson in the team. Better that than paying lip service to 17 year olds for a one off match.

Spot on (bar Rodewell, think a player who has only completed 90 minutes three times in his career should start for England). The likes of Wilshire were a token gesture for me - it'll be interesting to see the squad for Bulgaria.

I'll throw out a really underrated player who will never play for England, but deserves a call-up: Karl Henry. Shoot me.

I didn't know that stat about Rodwell. Still think the boy is ridiculously talented. Don't know about international football but I'd agree with the underrated bit about Karl Henry as well. Oh, and if they are intent bigging up the teenagers then they should be looking at Phil Jones as much as any of the Arsenal lads, considering the drop off in experience/ability from Ferdinand/King/Carra/Campbell/Terry to the next bunch.

Not a bad shout. Would rather they called him up than someone like Scott Parker. Got a good few years ahead of him. Although he wont get a call up if hes at Wolves.

Oh, and if they are intent bigging up the teenagers then they should be looking at Phil Jones as much as any of the Arsenal lads, considering the drop off in experience/ability from Ferdinand/King/Carra/Campbell/Terry to the next bunch.

But the royalty of Lord Winter of Bellendary (he best not see this) says Rodwell is incredible and moans at Capello for not picking him, ignoring the fact he's had three 90 minutes for Everton in his career. For the record, I think Rodwell is going to be incredible.

Winter (and others) have their favourites: mainly the Arsenal lads (especially Wilshire and Walcott) and Rodwell. I don't think England should turn to youth for the sake of it, but they should be looking to nurture a few players such as Jones and Carroll. They are two players who are needed in those positions at the moment, and they can grow into the role, and come World Cup 2014/Euro 2016 (forget Euro 2012), they'll be fully fledged international players.

And there shouldn't be a worry about calling up good players just because they're over 25. Henry has been superb for Wolves.
