Fast Becoming the BITW plays two positions super well, could become a legend  ( no joking) awareness reads it well only 23 a few mistakes but recently with our new formation enables Trent  to move up which inturn helps Curtis etc play further up the field. Could he be the unspoken lynchpin , abit like Finnan was for us back in the day (obv diff position) played his role perfect and let others grab the glory always the 8/10 player

Thought the formation left him with little in the way of passing options when he was shut down on the inside, something we should look at.  His only out ball most of the time was to just fizz it down the line towards Salah.

Yeah he's got himself out of trouble a few times by powering past the opposition player, but I'd rather our tactics meant that he didn't need to rely on his physicality and we gave him options on the ball.  One of the benefits of this 3-2 set up is that it creates lots of passing options, but if he's shut down on the inside, there's nowhere to go but down the line.

Had to go to page 3 to find this thread.

He was immense last week against Chelsea, and dominated again yesterday. He is so calm with the ball at his feet, doesn't panic and made a couple of lovely runs into midfield that Matip would have been proud of.

Now all we need is another Ibou on the left side of defence to succeed Virgil, and our defence is sorted for YEARS.
Mark my words. Top 8 will be a massive struggle.
We won't make any big signings this season and we will go back to being a top4 club.

If he can stay fit and consistently plays games, he'll be up there with Virg as one of our greatest.

Absolutely love him.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. If Virg and Ibou can play atleast 30- 33 games, we are finishing top 4 without a doubt.

See if we can get the game moved to Sunday, that way I think he’ll have a chance of being fit.

His injury record - year after year - is a major concern. Can't rely on him at all. Given his increased role (covering for Trent in the hybrid role), it's really strange that we haven't brought another CB in yet.

Everybody knows that Ibou picks up his fair share of injuries. We shouldn't be expecting him to play 33 league games.

Got a muscle injury, we know how they go, he'll be gone for a few weeks, no shock when you're being asked to cover acres every time we lose the ball.

Surely anybody with any sense has to dump the formation on Sunday

Due to injuries, Nat Phillips to feature heavily this season as we ‘keep our powder dry’ for a BIG CB signing next summer. The club feel that Endo and Bajcetic can both play the position well, they don’t want to block the path for Quansah as he is the next VVD… etc etc.

Sick of this bollocks.

It's not confirmed, he might miss the game.  But historically, that usually means he's missing the game.
