Love this signing, I almost don't want to get too excited in case something happens in the next 10 months. But it's looking very good.

if the Ballon D'or wasn't heavily skewed to goal scorers I'd say this kid has a chance to win it in the next 5 years.

Potential to be the best midfielder in the world

Time for Naby Keita school to commence people. Here is the full 90 of his last game against Freiburg. Enjoy!!!

Just quoting this so i remember to watch it later :)

Also what a boss signing.  We would praise other clubs for completing forward thinking signings like this.  Can't believe we did it to be honest.

Looks like he was playing in the number 6 position. I think that is what he has played moistly for them last season.

Too much information...

He looks amazing. It's a shame we couldn't get him this season but we're still well stocked in midfield for now.

Now wouldn't it be nice if we could lend Allan to RBL so he can learn from Naby ...

I am absolutely giddy about this transfer. He genuinely has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.

Title winning teams need a top CM perhaps more than they need a top striker. He could be our Keane, Viera or Kante.
Roger Scruton was right about everything.

That Stoke game video ;D
Plus he looked like he was playing in second gear throughout, just messing with them a bit to make it entertaining. My only fear is that he won't be protected enough by referees when embarrassed cloggers start chopping him at the knees.

Anyone know how locked-in is this?

Could he back out if we finished 5th, for example?

Or could we back-out if he had some huge ACL injury in May?

You really are an idiot.

How the fuck can he back out of a legally binding contract? he's be fucked if he even tried to.

Why am I an idiot? I've never seen one of these pre-contract deals before (I doubt you have either!) so I don't know how the conditions work. Hence asking the question.

If it's binding I think that's better for us as it gives us certainty.

Erm you've never seen one? We did ones with Grujic and Origi not so long ago. Before that with the likes of Cisse etc.

Weren't those outright purchases with a loan-back though? Bit different.

As far as I understand here we don't actually have him as a player yet but we've agreed a price to sign him and the player's contract terms ahead of time.

Its' the same thing really.  He's ours we're just not paying the money till next summer.  otherwise the club wouldn't have said anything. They've confirmed the deal as well as Leipzig.

So the only difference being we can't do the whole 'leaning in the shirt' thing until next summer?

Yesh, he's ours.

Well he could've done the "lean" thing when he came over for a medical but he's still a Leipzig player technically.

That's good. Even though he's a different type of player, he's perfect to replace Phil as the attacking player in our midfield if he leaves next summer.

He probably plays for Guinea a bit further forward too. Shame Leipzig don't use him in a more advanced role. Klopp will certainly use him as 8 imo.

Also, every time Guinea get the ball they look for him first wherever he is.
