I did very little that week myself. In fact I had one of my staff glued to the Guardian website whenever I was in meetings to keep me updated when I come back.

I now have visions of some sort of weird take on the old solvite ads...

No one wanted to insult you by paying you money, we all know that you are above that

I remember for 4 whole days and parts of the night to be alternating between here, the Guardian Commentary with Sky Sports News on in the background, with the occasional flick on to BBC News 24.

At the time I think it was the busiest the site had been.  We had to lock the thread and do comms because the thread was pretty much unusable otherwise.  Gawd knows how many guests were watching but we had about 10,000 users logged in at once (about 17 reading the comms thread, 9983 in Feedback complaining that they couldn't post ;)

Very worrying times for all of us, watching and waiting and devouring every snippet of news we could lay our hands eyes and ears on. The elation of hearing the news at the end followed by the fear of the Cowboys somehow finding a way to hang on either in the courts here or in the USA was like the mad mouse ride at Blackpool. Thank fowler we won that game and even sweeter after coming from behind. Who says we dont win if we go one down?

We have come a long long way since then, on and off the pitch, but we still have a fair way to go yet. A decision on the ground we play on, how we distribute TV rights,  sponsership deals and FFP rules all high on the agenda off the pitch while Kenny and his staff continue to mould the players, young and old, into the style he and us as fans want us to play.

A largely debt free club is back. Sound commercial business decisions are back. Pass and move is back. The Liverpool way is back and Kenny is back too. That lot alone should be enough for any Liverpool fan for one year after the time we suffered under the cowboys. Another year or two, each with as much progress as the last, will see us back at the very top. You can bet your life the other clubs are looking at us right now and thinking bollocks them lot are back!
This Klopp fella, hes not bad is he?

One mental time in my life, thats all i can say.
That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness

Link to my post in the 'Dear Mr Hicks' thread about the day I had travelling down with SOS, will certainly stick in the memory for a long time that day.

Was officially confirmed this time last year:

And that Tom Hicks interview, which gave rise to the likes of 'Epic Swindle' and 'Internet Terrorists':

I honestly can't believe it has been a year. I was in Madrid at the time and all I had to keep me updated was the odd hour here and there on Rawk and other sites in an internet cafe. BBC world news in the hotel room wasnt much help, just kept on showing the same headlines over and over then finally the news came through that LFC had indeed changed hands and the Cowboys were out of town! :wave

Remember walking in to a bar for the derby game and seeing we were already 2-0 down. I never would of imagined the year that was to follow and the transformation the club has been through.
