Haha, sorry I was joking, I have no idea where you'd get it but I don't see why you couldn't.

Do all international kits have to use the same font for the text? If so you could easily get his name put on at JJB or something.

Oh  ::)

Well, this is what I was wondering. The font is different and it's in a green colour so it'd have to be the real thing. A few years ago I got a Brazil shirt with Ronaldinho on the back from JJB so I might go and ask...

Although Lucas probably doesn't compare to Ronaldinho  :D

Lucas being compared with socrates ?? oh my word ! Theres so many "beleivars" on here its unbelievable, he is a good player that you want in the squad but in 20 years time I very much doubt people will talk superlatives about lucas , like is done today about midfielders like Molby,Souness etc.  He often for me doesn't express the "brazilian style " and often tries to get the ball quick to give to players like Gerrard, Kuyt etc. which is good but not all the time in the position he plays in.He has improved heavily, got stronger and seems a good lad but to compare him with socrates is ludicrous in my opinion. If you compare him with a player of Jack Wilsheres' calibre for example , the differences are staggering for me. When I go to the game I never get on lucas' back and always appreciate his efforts but he is no Socrates.

Johan Cruyff the best ever footballer for me smoked a lot of cigs too !

Socrates was probably retired by the time you we`re born mate so you can comment like that on the subject. Also Lucas has some developing to do still but all the signs are he1s going to make a lot of people eat their words.

Especially LFC "fans" who doubt him.
That right peg hits it and you see the future arc of the ball and time goes al gluey like a Dali painting, and for a second there's a 20yr old StevenGerrard and your young self cheering him on through the prism. His big smile fades in an the net is shivering and J.Hart's trying not to look grateful for the privilege of being that close to greatness

@Morgo10 is a blatant fake, he puts 'lad' after everything to try and seem scouse, he tweeted nathan eccleston 3 times, saying 'Follow me Nath, Lad'.

I'm not sure he is to be honest. He's given out information regarding U17 call-ups a few times a day or so before they were announced on the fa site. Not just on himself either, on team mates who have been called up too, some of them for the first time so I doubt he's just guessed on previous call-ups.
"I was pleased also with Peter Crouch. We have been talking to him, before and after his nose operation, to show more confidence with his heading.

"Now it seems to have worked. Lets say that if he has a few games without scoring again, maybe we should arrange to break his nose again."

Absolute garbage this.  I've followed his tweets and although he comes across as a nice bloke and a bit brighter than yer average Aldo or Ecclestone I hardly get the impression that he is going to make a major contribution to Ethics.  In fact I think that the only real similarity is that he has to deal with stupid elements who want to bring about an untimely end to his career.

Socrates did have a habit of polarising opinion, as does Lucas. Lucas is also good at hemming opponents in and locking them into difficult situations.

What the hell has Wilshere done to get all this praise from the media and fans? Lucas is a much better player imo, sure he might not have some of the flair and fancy stuff Wilshere sometime produces but seriously he has scored 2 goal and had 3 assists in his entire fkn carrier(and before u say it, I know,Lucas doesnt have a good scoring/assist record). Granted he is only 19, and sure he might become a class player one day(because he isnt one today) but if he was German and playing for Wolves no one would be talking about "Jack Wilshere the next football superstar!".

"The Brazillian style" ?? :butt

Go back in history and look at other Brazillian defensive midfielders. What about Dunga, a slow player who didnt do anythin fancy but got about the pitch and did the dirty work for the team. More recently Gilberto. Exactly the same with him. Just because hes Brazillian doesnt mean he has to be the next ronaldinho, do flicks, be quick, take people on and score a shit load of goals.

Your other point about him always passing to Gerrard and kuyt is bollox aswell IMO. From what I see, Lucas is one of the only people ive seen actually run past Gerrard with the ball when Stevie is shoutin for it. If the pass isnt on then Lucas tends to be one of the only ones with the balls not to give it to them.

Maybe he wont be the next Molby or Souness as you say, but come on, there pretty big boots to fill lad. Its like saying he aint gonna be talked about in the same breath as Gerrard in 20 years. Its obvious. But what he does bring to the team is invaluable and thats a dogged spirit, tonnes of energy, honesty and a real desire to do well for the club. Accompany that with the great talent he has plus all the potential in the world and I think we have a real gem on our hands.

Couldn't disagree more. Wilshere is one of the best young talents in the country and has earned the praise he has received. There's no point in quoting goals/assists because you could write off some of the best midfielders around doing that - Xabi Alonso included.

Did you see him playing against Barca at the Emirates? He put in a very mature, competent performance and easily held his own against the best midfield in the World. I'd happily swap him for Jay Spearing.

Agreed, Wilshere stole the show in the tie against Barca at the Emirates. To shine against Xavi and Iniesta would mean a lot for a great midfielder, let alone a 19 year old English in his first breakthrough season.

Anyway, missed the game today, was really looking forward to watching Lucas play but it wasn't meant to be. Glad to hear he had a decent game, any video's of his performance up yet?

It isn't that Wilshere is not a very good footballer, and deserves recognition. It is that on account of his nationality he has been heralded the great hope of the land who will free the nation of mediocrity and unfulfilled promise, when he is simply a 19 year old lad with alot to learn and a lot of natural talent who could just as easily and more likely underwhelm that he could end up being a superstar. And I would swap N'Gog for Llorente but it isn't champ manager and it isn't going to happen.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

What is your opinion on Lucio today?  The Brazilian Carraguer emerged as the captain of Brazil NT, spoil my enjoyment of seeing the game again.
I dared critisize this sacred caw in ortugues in my twitter,  than the Lord  nobody know my home adress

I hope this sort of Carraguer will not be called for the Copa America.   The only differece between him and Carra is hat he like to abandon the defense and run himself to assist Neimar, ignoring some members of the midfield that are not of his generation.  He is not an asset like he used to be, IMHO,  anyhow, he lost one fan today

Bring back DavidLuis, He is at least quicker, and his harmony with the Tiago Silva, Dani Alvez , Lucas and Andre Santos is much better.  If you want an experienced CD,you had on the bench David Luis partner in defense from Benfica - Luisao.

In all the games under Mano menezes he wore the 5 number.  TOday, BTW they did not have the names on the shirts, mayb because of so many injuries and changes of the last minutes.  No. 5 is an important numer in the Brazil system,  the 4 of the defense and him are the "defensive quintet"  Until now, actually , with David Luis, today with Lucio. Luio went up many times, and i have noot seen muh of Thiago Silva today.. I will have to see the retransmission later this night (I confess I have seen the westham game 3 times and enjoyed every minute of it

If you want to be on the safe side, wait untill the all-up for Copa america, when they will all have official numbers and names.

usa got slaughtered last night. I am american and I am angry we got that draw because we needed to be shown what football is about and the only thing people will take from the game is that we got a draw against argentina which felt a whole lot more like a loss.

I congratulate you cause u know what football is all about.
During the first half...US was defending with eleven players on the back...in the second half Argentina slowed down and did not play as well.
USA have a modest squad...and still have to improve a lot to be in the same league than Argentina.

Argentina ran a passing and possession clinic in the first half but only managed a single goal. In the second half, the legendary fitness of the Americans plus a wise substitution and change of shape, plus set-plays allowed the U.S. to equalize.

It was a great result for a team that was comprehensively outplayed in the first half.  The substitutions and change of shape did help.  But even after that, it was obvious from the start (to me at least, said so to my dad and brother who I went to the game with) that the US were only ever likely to score from a set piece.

The US team has a bunch of tryers who raise their game for the big opposition.  They also have a couple good players who know how to counter-attack (Dempsey and Donovan).  But largely I have to agree with new-red about needing to be taught a footballing lesson.  We were so wasteful in possession as we often are.  The only player who kept getting us to try and play football was Michael Bradley.

Edit:  sorry to hijack the Lucas thread with discussion of the US v Argentina friendly.  But just reading back over my post, I realized my description of Michael Bradley from that game is eerily reminiscent of many of Lucas' performances during Roy's tenure.  So, somehow the discussion can return to Lucas ;)

So, somehow the discussion can return to Lucas ;)

time for a load of posters to pile in and say that bradley is crap, average and not a liverpool player?

Ged has done very well to get Bradley and Makoun , two players who I think will be great for Villa next season.  :)

Hell no, bradley is a wonderful player. I'd take him over many an English midfield player.

The Americans, when they produce top level talent, tend to come inbuilt with a fantastic workrate, football intelligence and bravery. Bradley's another one of those, as is Holden.

Socrates did have a habit of polarising opinion, as does Lucas.
I am with Thucydides on this.

Socrates liked hanging out with his alco buddies though, but Lucas seems the sober type.

Holden and Bradley aren't top level talent.

America hasn't produced any 'top level talent', certainly not in my lifetime. The one player who was apparently destined for the very top was Freddy Adu - he's currently on loan at Çaykur Rizespor, whoever the fuck they are...

I suppose neither are in the bracket that's going to win World Player of the Year or move to Barcelona. But to me, Holden especially, for the role they perform for the team and the way they provide a platform to enhance the entire team, I rate them very highly.

Anyway, I think Bradley has always suffered a bit for being the coach's son when he's there on credit. Certainly did his bit against Argentina.
