4G Availble Now, So Why Watch the Match?
« on: May 31, 2018, 01:45:40 am »
4G services at Anfield thanks to the new stadium-wide network. 👉 http://lfc.tv/AH2G

Quote
Liverpool fans can now enjoy high-quality 4G services at Anfield thanks to the new stadium-wide network, which has been installed to enhance the matchday experience for supporters and visitors.

The new 4G mobile services have been designed and deployed by infrastructure delivery specialists Wireless Infrastructure Group (WIG). The service is available initially to O2 and Vodafone customers, with plans to roll the service out to other networks at a later date.

Fans who are attending the highly anticipated Brazil v Croatia international friendly at Anfield on Sunday June 3 will be the first to benefit from improved connectivity at the stadium. Supporters will be able to keep up to date with the latest news, sporting results and share images of their time at Anfield whilst attending the game.

LFC is hoping the changes will ensure that fans can enjoy an immersive experience at Anfield with high-speed connectivity – sharing images on social media and keeping in touch with friends.

Andrew Robinson, head of technology and transformation at Liverpool Football Club said: “Putting our fans first, improving their matchday experience and helping them to enjoy their time at Anfield is integral to our strategy.

“Providing consistent mobile coverage at scale to 54,000 fans is very challenging and slow mobile data speeds can be frustrating for fans. Using expertise from WIG we’re tackling this challenge with high quality 4G services throughout the stadium to provide a much better match day experience.”

Can’t wait to livestream the game in HD to my Facebook friends!

Forza Liverpool!

Jokes aside, I feel the club is making a big effort to ramp up social media recently and I guess people sharing stuff with better 4G is part of that effort. Pros and cons to it, but whatever. If you see someone being a whopper just tell them (politely) to stop and get involved instead with the atmosphere instead.

Bellends that were playing with their phones during the game will continue to do so, but for everyone else, who wants to use their phone during half time or before or after the game it will make things a little easier. It is not earth shatteringly important, but it just removes a minor irritant. Not worth adding to an Everton style list, but definitely not one to whinge about.

Network signal in the stadium
« Reply #11 on: November 27, 2021, 09:40:09 am »
Does anyone have a mobile phone on the EE network and know what the mobile signal is like in the stadium?
My son is currently with 3 and they are absolutely shite in the stadium, I am with Vodafone and that is fine in the stadium but only just about ok at home.
He has an good offer for EE but he likes to check his bets and the halftime scores so he would just like to know how it fairs in the stadium before taking the plunge.

Signal is great with EE

Always get one. I think they must have stuck something new in the season before - maybe new towers?

Lads next to me are on some other network and can't ever get a signal

I had a problem today at half time checking scores but when I changed from 4g to 3g it was ok, I guess 4g signal must have been overloaded.
Asked a couple around next to us today in the Kop who where on EE and they were both ok.

Thanks everyone, he's just ordered an EE phone and contract.

As a few people have said the EE signal in the kop got sorted about 18 months ago and is now great but then girl next to me in 207 yesterday had a phone on 3 and couldn’t get any updates on anything despite it showing 4G on her screen.
Proudest ever moment was in the Ataturk stadium - i'm sure the wife will understand!

Three's 4g is appalling, 3g is often faster for me in built-up areas.

I get signal all the time with sky and can text or call fine. Data doesn't work at halftime though as likely everyone is on it. Works fine during the game. After the match i have to be a few miles away before it works though
