Your best bet is the exchange. Away tickets are rare though. So don't hold your breath

Apologies if this isn't the right place to ask this.

Liverpool - Watford on the 6th of November has an 'additional members sale' coming up.

Coming from Australia for the game

If I bought a membership/fan card am I a realistic chance of getting a ticket through this sale or is it not really worth it?

Thanks

I signed up as a member early this week,so I can buy tickets in the local  members sale on Friday(tmoro), for the Sunderland match.

Can I buy a ticket for a mate at the same time, if he is registered?
Or does he have to buy a membership aswell,so I can add as friend/family.

In other words, will his  free registration, allow me to add him to friends/family so I can buy him a ticket?

cheers!
Jeff

So I bought a Light Membership and just received the renewal card. However it didn't have a membership card with it. I only had a fancard before. With light membership do you still get paper tickets? Or do you need a membership card?

But have you got an actual membership card? Or are you still using an old fancard?

Just wondering when did it change that you could only buy one ticket per card.

Been away for few years and I remember the last match I went to before heading off I got 3 tickets off the one membership.

I think you can get multiple tickets when it's a general sale. When it's all members, you have to be a paid member to buy a ticket (so multiple memberships).

Sorry for late reply, but it's a membership card. Got the card when I first bought the membership having previously had a fancard.

Only ever had multiple tickets on one card if a game went to general sale. Could then buy up to 4 on 1 card, with 3 of them being paper tickets.

Mine wasn't working apparently. Steward let me in but has kept the card. Hopefully there won't be any trouble getting a replacement.

Missed first 20 minutes and there were still lots behind me in queue for dupes. Most seemed to not know that replacements were supposed to be sent and had tried their old cards.

New card just didn't work. Got sent to one of the guys who prints it off.

"I can let you in, but I've got to take the card off you"

Then had to queue up for the TO to print dupes for today and Wednesday. There must have been about 8 staff having to deal with members in a similar position.

Were you in the queue when the Woman came out to ask if anybody was Thomas Cook or Hospitality?  I assume they didn't miss kick off.

Strange they weren't aware. I had 2 emails and a text message asking if it'd received my new card. It said in them that the old card wouldn't work.

Not really much more the club can do for people than that imo

Saw the queues outside the ticket office and assumed it was local sale pickup.

No. Then again I didn't miss kick off. I'd gone in a little earlier than normal and just made kick off. God help. Someone the other side of the ground

I was going to be late anyway.  I was planning on seeing my Uncle in Fazakley Hospital at 1pm, then get a bus at 2pm.

Got stuck in the traffic on Road Works on M6 though so had to see Uncle after match and didn't get to Anfield until 2.30pm.

When I got my ticket there was still loads behind me in the queue and they were all there because their cards had failed (people were asking why they were queuing - so they could get them into proper queues).  Some were having arguments at the window because they'd borrowed cards off other people and the ticket office were keeping them.

I was in the Annie Road and got in after 20 minutes, so must have been about 15 minutes into the match when I was sorted, still a big queue behind me though.

If they knocked a quid off the price of a pint inside the ground I reckon they'd get loads more in early.  Chelsea springs to mind, as one of the Clubs who do cheap pints early on.

I didn't get my usual text with my seat number.  I only renewed last Saturday though and had email saying my new card would be 4 to 6 weeks.  It didn't say anything about old cards not being used but I knew everyone was getting new ones.  I spent 4 hours through the week trying to get through to customer service to ask if my old card would work.  They said no and I'd have to get to ticket window early, but I knew I wouldn't be able to get there earlier than half two.

Lads not sure of this is the right section but just wondering what date the membership ticket sale is in Novemeber? Or is it announced yet?

It will be my first time using my membership card to buy tickets so unfamiliar with the dates/process.

Any little details worth knowing would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Worked fine for Sunday.

Hi all

Can someone please help me, basically my membership card is damaged somewhat, the black strip on the back is peeled off, its only a little bit that has peeled off from the end of the strip.

I am going to the game on Wednesday night, will my card still work in the turnstile?

Can someone please let me know

Thanks

Sounds like it should be fine. But go through the turnstile early (about 45 minutes), so if you have to go round to the ticket office, there's still plenty of time.

Cheers mate, someone mentioned that there are chips in the card that are detected and the strip is only on the card to be used when swiped in the stores for purchases, is there any truth in that you reckon?

They don't get swiped in the store. At least never when I've used them anyway. They just type in the number.

Never heard of a in chip the card but wouldn’t be surprised, the magnetic strip holds your data to connect to the  clubs system

You could tape it , but use scotch tape only !! as  it’s doesnt contain iron oxide that convey information by generating electrical pulses in the reader.

Other tapes would alter the information to the reader .

If you can get away with no tape , do that for now .

It should be fine. The magnetic strip doesn't add a huge amount of value to the card i don't think although im sure does hold data of somekind but you dont use the magnetic strip to gain access to the ground.

The data is stored on the card but not on a chip. believe the card has a coil in it so if you were to determinate the card and get inside it it looks like a rolled up wire. The data is on there. I believe the way the club sort access is they upload the card details to the entry system at the ground for the game (IE those who have bought a ticket) and then straight after delete them all.

Anyway it should be fine but like others have said go early OR go the ticket office early and get them to test it and if it fails they'll give you a paper duplicate i presume and you'll just need to get a new card sorted. Make sure you take ID regardless as you may get asked at the ticket office

You don't swipe your card to get in, it uses the chip. At least at the Kop turnstyles. Most people leave their cards in their wallets and still get in.

I don't think that is right. I think the coil is just a coil, the reader has a magnetic field, and when the coil in the card moves through it, induction produced a current to power the chip on the card.
