Yes, apparently, Glen doesn't have one yet don't you know etc etc YAWN.

Never too early. Besides, he got one first day of the season at Anfield after his mental run up the pitch.

Still think Neil's TAW song for Glen was quality.

Recent interview:

http://espnfc.com/news/story/_/id/1599525/kolo-toure-confident-liverpool-title-challenge?cc=3436

Kolo Toure believes Liverpool are genuine title contenders and he is determined to prove himself to former club Arsenal when the Reds face the Premier League leaders on Saturday.

Brendan Rodgers’ side visit the Emirates Stadium knowing that, if other results go their way, a win will see them replace the Gunners at the top of the Premier League.

And that would be hugely satisfying for Toure, who made 326 appearances in seven years for Arsenal.

The Ivory Coast international was part of the Invincibles side who went through the 2003/04 Premier League season unbeaten as they won the title.

And the centre-back, who also won a championship medal with Manchester City in 2012, feels Liverpool are in the running this season for a first league title since 1990.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "Of course we are [contenders] because we have so many great players. The way we are playing shows that. This is a fantastic club.

"We want to win trophies and we want to win the title definitely. Arsenal are contenders too, as there are some fantastic people there."

Toure acknowledges a debt to Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who brought the defender to England from Ivory Coast club ASEC Mimosas for 150,000 pounds in 2002.

But Wenger decided to sell the 32-year-old to Manchester City for 16 million pounds in the summer of 2009.

At the time, Toure said that he felt he had been forced out as a result of a rift with centre-back partner William Gallas -- with the two men having barely spoken to each other for a year.

Toure, who moved to Anfield on a free transfer in July after his Manchester City contract expired, said: "Without Arsene, I wouldn't be here. He was the one who saw me. He's a fantastic manager and gave me my chance to play football in this country.

"But now is not the time to talk about him. He knows I've been talking about him all the time. It's always special to go back there -- but at the same time, I want to show on Saturday that Arsenal made a mistake by letting me go.

"I'm going there to fight. I want to show them what I can do and help my team -- Liverpool -- to win. Right now I don’t want to think about any of the good things that Arsene did for me as I’m focused on getting those three points."

Toure has been a consistent presence in an evolving Liverpool defence this season, with manager Brendan Rodgers switching from a flat back four to a three-man central defensive unit in late September.

The defender is expecting a tough time against an Arsenal side brimming with attacking options such as Mesut Ozil, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud, Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere.

"Of course it will be difficult but we are a strong team and we have a great manager as well," he added. "They know that we pose a threat to them too and they know it will be a tough game for them."

Liverpool's own attacking threat is set to consist of Daniel Sturridge, who is the Premier League's leading scorer with eight goals, and Luis Suarez, who Arsenal tried to sign in the summer.

Suarez has been welcomed back into the fold after a troubled few months, during which he incurred a 10-match domestic ban for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic and made clear that he wanted to leave Anfield.

Since his return from the ban, the 26-year-old Uruguay international has scored six goals in five games for Liverpool, including a hat-trick in last Saturday's 4-1 Premier League win over West Brom.

"I haven’t seen many better hat-tricks than Luis' against West Brom," Toure said. "All three were great goals. Both Luis and Daniel are amazing players and there is a great understanding between them.

"I wouldn’t fancy having to mark either of them. When you have players like that in the squad and you train with them every day, it makes you even better."

Love Kolo, but the part of Arsenal letting him go isn't exactly true, isn't? Didn't he had some dispute with the club to join City? I recall him handing a transfer request at some point.

I wasn't sure about his signing when it happened, as with most Chelsea or City players I just seen him as another mercenary who wanted one last pay day and was unlikely to play a lot of football for us. More signed for the experience he could offer some of the younger lads and add a title winner to the dressing room.

Delighted to say I was wrong, he seem's to be be right up for the challenge. We seen it with Pirlo a few years ago, along with Ronaldinho my favourite non LFC player of the past 15 years or so he was with Milan wasn't offering a lot and Juventus decided to take a risk with him and sign him on a free. He went from looking like he was finished to being an outsider for the Ballon d'Or that's how much motivation a new project/target can give a player. Sometime's it takes a move late on in a players career to give them a hunger again.. Maybe it's a chance to show their ex employers that they aren't finished yet and showing them what they are missing out on. Either way we see it in football from time to time and it's great to see.

I think Toure see's this as one last big achievement to be remembered by. He was already part of the invincibles, part of City's Premier League, now I'd like to think he want's to be part of bringing Liverpool back to the top of the table or at least back into the Champions League. Quite ironic that he would walk into the City side now, also the Arsenal side he's a quality player and has to be starting most games for me.

Ideally I'd like to see us look at Papadopouolos again in January or the summer, see how he (his knee) is progressing as I think him and Sakho could be our CB's for a long time to come and what a partnership that would be. I think Skrtel's time is coming to and end, possibly Agger's also. Kolo and Sakho are reminding us of how important a strong physical presence is at the back, we've lacked that since Sami.

The whole Yaya/Kolo chant is definitely spreading. Been on night's out in recent weeks in both Cheshire and Birmingham and at the end of the night, there were outbreaks of the chant. Not sure if they were LFC or City fans or they just like themselves a lovable Ivorian rogue.

Ha ha yeah should have said acquisition. Great bit of business.

You need a blend of youth and experience in a team.

As the famous saying goes.....''you can't win anything with kids!''

All jokes aside though, he brings so much experience to this squad its absolutely priceless.

His experience of being in title winning sides and feeding that experience into our squad is worth having him here alone.

What is the absolute icing on the cake is that this guy is still a very able player as we have seen and his enthusiasm is absolutely unbelievable and infectious.

Don't underestimate what a character like that can do for the morale and confidence of the team.

Absolutely delighted he's here and hope he will stay around till he's at least 35.

The mentality he's brought with him is fantastic.  He knows exactly what it takes to bring a title home and it's like everyone is marching to that beat along with him.

So, so eloquent too.  Always says the right thing to bolster expectations without putting undue pressure on himself or the squad.

Dare I say he may have a future as a manager?

Loved his pass for Suarez first goal on Saturday... Looked such a simple pass (because he made it look so easy) but I know alot defenders wouldn't of played that pass and he executed it perfectly when probably the easier option would have been a simple 5 yarder to someone else. Great played and it set us up for a nice win (Suarez played his part aswell  ;) :lickin)

http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11669/9044329/premier-league-liverpools-kolo-toure-takes-swipe-at-manchester-city

Kolo Toure believes Manchester City will be "kicking themselves" after allowing him to leave the Etihad for Liverpool.

The Ivory Coast international centre-back was released by City in May at the end of his four-year contract.

Toure only made 10 Premier League starts and five substitute appearances in his final season under Roberto Mancini, with Matija Nastasic and Joleon Lescott both ahead of him in the pecking order.

The 32-year-old feels he should have been retained at City but that their loss is Liverpool's gain.

"I was better than certain players at Manchester City but I was left on the bench," Toure told The Sun.

"Before I left the club, I told the people in charge that they would regret letting me go. People said I was finished and that I could never get back to my former level.

"But now I am at Liverpool - and I am sure that City must be kicking themselves when they see how I am performing."

Toure likens his own situation to that of brother Yaya, who was sold by Barcelona to City in summer 2010.

"He (Yaya) listened to his big brother's advice - and now he is the big boss on the field."
Kolo Toure

"I have had a similar experience to Yaya," he added. "Managers come to clubs bringing players with them and they want to pick them at all costs - whether they are any good or not.

"Yaya was much better than Sergio Busquets at Barcelona. But he was behind him in the pecking order and he found that hard to accept.

"I advised him to come to Manchester City while I was still there.

"He listened to his big brother's advice - and now he is the big boss on the field for them."

City play host to Liverpool in the league on Boxing Day in what is likely to be a crucial top-of-the-table encounter.

Please Kolo......persuade your brother to move once again  ;D

Why would you want him to?  ???  We have Lucas, Hendo, and Allen who are all better than him there?  Why not play Suarez in DM he loves chasing people around and he could get some goals from Midfield too

Probably a stupid question, but a genuine one.

Is the rag banned inside our club? As in, we call in an official press conference, do you know if they would still get the invite? This "reproducing/quoting/crediting" has been happening atleast 3-4 times every season.

Just did a bit of investigating. I think he got injured around the Man Utd game but that only last a week. Skrtel took his spot but then he came back in when we switched to a back three. Lost his spot after Arsenal. IMO we looked better at the back when it was Toure and Agger and I wouldn't mind seeing Toure and Sakho either after the Everton game when neither CB impressed me. Though all the chopping and changing probably doesn't help develop continuity I suppose.

Lost his spot after Arsenal. IMO we looked better at the back when it was Toure and Agger and I wouldn't mind seeing Toure and Sakho either after the Everton game when neither CB impressed me. Though all the chopping and changing probably doesn't help develop continuity I suppose.

I meant in the World Cup qualifiers. I'm pretty sure he went to ground late on in the second leg against Senegal?
Better looking than Samie.

Why does RAWK have to have this fucking dance everytime an article adds the totally meaningless phrase 'told the sun'?

It doesn't mean fucking anything.

He wasn't great today but I only wish some of our players shared his passion.
