Do we know if he is really 32? I mean Kanu's like 50 now so.... Just saying!

Great signing though needed to try and fill the void of experience left by Carra.

Does this mean we're signing ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONEY?

Good signing. Now for Padapopulous to sign and then another if Skrtel goes. Good replacement for carra. Experienced, versatile and has always seemed like a sound lad.

I'm quite happy about this one. I'm usually really negative about new signings, but this one i'm happy with.

He's exactly what we need. Experienced, solid, and a good character. Played at Arsenal and Manchester City, good pedigree, and he's free. I just hope they've got the wages and contract right so we don't end up with another Joe Cole situation. Solid defender, quick, good in the air. Very happy with this one.

Anything more that 6m for Joe Allen and we have been ripped off.

Loads of Joe allens out there.

I would like to see him stay at Swansea myself and see if he can have another decent season. He is a championship player - players like a championship player.

Good experience at the top level.

Need AT LEAST one more CB, possibly two. Think Rodgers will look to play three at the back more next season and even if not, we definitely need an upgrade in that position.

This. Quality player to have in the squad even if he might be a step slower than his heyday, might even be faster than Carra was this season.  Also a PL winner. Welcome!

Shelvey was earlier, don't know if he was the 'earliest' though.

He can also step in for Lucas if/when needed, so a good option to have all-round. Could be as important off the field in terms of presence and experience as Gary McAllister was for Houllier's team.

The most important thing about this deal is he's a winner: 2 Premier League titles and a couple of FA cups, plus he was one of the Arsenal 'invincibles'. We might only get 3 or 4 seasons out of him but if he helps us make the next step I'll be a very happy man. A very intelligent signing from BR, hope he's a massive success :scarf
