Meanwhile, the United manager has called for his fans to respect Liverpool and cease singing about the Hillsborough disaster.
Ferguson takes his team to Anfield on Saturday and has requested United fans stop chants about the 1989 FA Cup semi-final at Hillsborough at which 96 Liverpool supporters died.
"I always consider this to be the game of the season in English football," Ferguson said.
"We need each other. Respect should be adhered to. Shouts of Hillsborough don't do either club any good."
His comments come after last month's Carling Cup match between Leeds and Manchester United at Elland Road.
The game was marred by chants about the 1958 Munich air disaster, in which 11 United players and staff were killed, and Leeds' game at Galatasaray in 2000 when two of the Yorkshire club's supporters were stabbed to death.

Didn't know where else to put it.

I can't see Charlie Adam starting this one for some reason; reckon we'll see Henderson or Spearing take his place with Lucas and Gerrard the other 2 midfield players.
Please not Henderson.
Would rather go for a flat 4-4-2.
I reckon 2 out of Adam,Downing and Kuyt will start.

The one thing the Mancs have is pace, so would Adam be suitable alongside Lucas?

Sorry but I don't  buy that at all.

Age has no bearing on idiotic behaviour.

Maybe it's me not communicating well enough here ...Let's have another go..

When there are no good examples to follow or sufficient respectful disciplinarians around to enforce good behaviour (like there used to be) , idiocy prevails. Bad habits stick just as firmly as good ones.
There is nothing wrong with striving to win, so long as you don't set the prize above the game. There can be no dishonour in defeat nor any conceit in victory. What matters above all is that the team plays in the right spirit, with skill, courage, fair play,no favour and the result accepted without bitterness. Sir Matt Busby CBE KCSG 1909-1994

Not in the middle of midfield though. But as Adam gets caught out a bit too much against the better teams I can see Gerrard playing a similar role to that he played in last season`s fixture at anfield. He wasn`t fully fit then but bossed the middle of the park easily. this would ease him back nicely in to first team football.

Just assume we are losing 0-3 and go in to the match. It helps my nerves, and doesn't hurt as bad if we lose.

If anyone wants to moan about anyone singing songs, moan about them please. Stand in the away end at Old Trafford and watch man, woman and child wave the rag at you and push their hands to their faces pretending to be getting crushed.

But we are better than them, this is what matters! Let's rise above the dickheads and the shit before they do, Manchester trumped us in the riots so lets show the world which is the better city (everton excepted of course)

Don't forget Busby was a Liverpool player (and captain)

Busby was sold to Liverpool for £8,000 on 12 March 1936, having made more than 200 appearances for Manchester City. He made his debut for the Reds just two days later, on 14 March, away to Huddersfield Town; the match ended in a 1–0 Liverpool defeat. Busby opened his goalscoring account a month later – his 47th minute strike helped his team to a 2–2 draw with Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park. Busby soon made the number 4 shirt his own, ousting Ted Savage in the process. He rarely missed a game over the following three seasons. This consistency earned Busby the Liverpool captaincy and he led the club with great distinction. Along with Jimmy McDougall and Tom Bradshaw, Busby made up what is considered by many to be the best half-back line Liverpool had ever had. Bob Paisley joined Liverpool from Bishop Auckland in 1939, and it was Busby who took him under his wing and showed him the ropes at Anfield. This led to a lifelong friendship between two of the most successful managers in English football history. The Second World War arrived soon after, and with it came an end to Busby's playing days. Like many of the Liverpool playing staff, he signed on for national service in the King's Liverpool Regiment.

                                  Reina

Johnson       Carragher       Agger       Enrique

                        Lucas         Adam

                                Gerrard
Kuyt                                                      Suarez

                                Carroll
He wasn't perfect, he made mistakes. But he was genuine. He had the best interests of the club at heart, and gave us a plethora of successful teams that we should have been thankful for.

We have to win this!! 9 points behind at this stage of the season is too much and wouldn´t be good for the confidence. A win could change all and give us a massive boost for even stay close to the top..

I reckon Kenny will through out all our heavy weights... Johnson, Gerrard, Lucas, Suarez probably even Aurelio...

Come on you redmen!!!

One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

I think his most recent match for us was the 1-1 draw at Arsenal.  Even taking away the events of the stoppage time (which was spot-on by him imo), it was a good performance by him.
