Now living in Brighton, I know that an unfortunate amount of their fans have a irrational strong dislike for Liverpool FC and jump on any opportunity to criticise. They also love to dispel what they call the 'myth' of Liverpools great support. I just hope we can get a good atmosphere going and not let them out sing us and bang on about it for years, although I hate to say that will probably be the case.None the less, a win should be on the cards in another competition we should be looking to get far in.
Coates is an accomplished player for his age and a title winner in Uruguay, who was due a start after signing and Robinson has first team experience and it was a mixture of youth and experience with Carra, Lucas, Spearing etc. I feel this game would not be the right time to blood a very young player like Sterling etc you might feel different about it, I've already explained my feelings on the matter, everyone has different opinions on it.
So when would you blood them? If not against an opponent from the league below? In a league match against Premier League opposition like Flanagan and Robinson were? Throw them in against Man City or Arsenal as they were respectively. The only reason Robinson has first team experience is because he was given it. Just like Suso/Sterling/Silva or whomever it is needs to be given it.Every single match is must win for us, and every match comes with pressure. They'll never get a chance if we're this afraid of seeing what they can do.
Well clearly given all the circumstances, and the opinion of coaches and professionals from the youth upwards, those players were ready at the time and realistic and reasonable options. Obviously the people at the club don't think this for the 16 year old Sterling who's been at the club for very little time and hasn't grown up with the tactics promoted in our youth ranks. Its as simply as that really. Edit: I mean if Kenny really thought Sterling was ready and was going to be effective, he'd play him, wouldn't he? He had no problem doing that for the youth players you're talking about, so clearly he's not afraid of doing it.
I wasnt asking for Kenny's opinion. I was asking for Phil's.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.
Been distraught with the happenings since yesterday . Be glad to talk about football again . Ll be at Anfield at the Kop End ! Will shout harder . Our club needs us !
If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.
Great anti climax for those expecting jizzihno....
Albion are a very good side. This will be tough.
Do we have anyone close to triggering a ban for the number of yellow cards totted up? If so, rest them ahead of the CC final. I'd also rest a few players that have seemed a bit tired - Johnson, for instance. Spearing and Gerrard are a bit tired too after their injury layoffs, so I'd either give them the game off, or at least part of it. There's a few others who deserve 'resting' for another reason too. This would be a good game for fringe players like Aurelio and Coates to feature in, but really, without meaning any disrespect to Brighton, any team with Bellamy and Suarez in it should be far too good for them. We just have to take the chances that come our way.
Hoping it's - Reina, Kelly, Carra, Coates, Fabio, Adam, Henderson, Maxi, Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll.
Sticking to RAWK I am. Real forum, real mods, real fans, fair and unbiased opinions etc..etc..
